software AROS   software AROS : indieGO! App Store 2nd beta release and AmiCloud
   posted by phoenixkonsole on 7-Sep-2014 15:09:18 (2190 reads)
Here we go with a new client which fulfills latest changes in european customer protection and has now a working search function:

indieGO!-Appstore for AROS i386
http://aeros-os.org/guistore/AROSi386.zip

indieGO!-Appstore for Windows
http://aeros-os.org/guistore/Windows.zip

indieGO!-Appstore for MorphOS
http://aeros-os.org/guistore/MorphOS.zip

Hint for users of slower machines:
Please edit /prefs/global.config in a text editor to reduce the window to enhance performance

open the global.config with TextEditor and change under "Resolution section" the width and height values to something smaller than 0.85 or as shown below to 0.5

[SECTION] = resolution
[SFL]width = 0.5
[SFL]height = 0.5

indieGO!-Appstore for AmigaOS 4.x
http://aeros-os.org/guistore/AmigaOS4x.zip

See hint about performance for the MorphOS-Version

indieGO!-Appstore for AmigaOS 3.x /AROS68k
http://aeros-os.org/guistore/AmigaOS3x.zip
http://aeros-os.org/guistore/AmigaOS3x_881.zip

indieGO!-Appstore for MacOS X PPC
http://aeros-os.org/guistore/MacOSXppc.zip

indieGO!-Appstore for MacOS X x86
http://aeros-os.org/guistore/MacOSXx86.zip

For OSX 10.8 user:
You need to launch first DLM (only once for first run). Than do a right click on App Store and choose "open".

This is needed to be done only once and is caused by Gatekeeper.

indieGO!-Appstore for Linux PPC (32bit)
http://aeros-os.org/guistore/Linuxppc.zip

indieGO!-Appstore for Linux i386 (32bit)
http://aeros-os.org/guistore/Linuxi386.zip

www.indiego-gaming.com

The AppStore is themeable and so it can be adapted to Icaros desktop and or AROS Vision if desired.

We will take care about design after we finished all other things.

Developers can already start using it but we will roll out a new developer-interface soon. Based on that we will make a video tutorial and a short guide.

It will look like this:

Meanwhile we have finished the server side for AmiCloud and will release a first client in a couple of weeks.

The Cloud will make use of the indieGO-ID to verify that the user purchased the client. This will be a test run of our copy protection and this will be used for future releases of AMC as well. This system can be used by other developers in their own apps.

We have also the news-system ready which will be used in:
1. Appstore to announce new releases or other things
2. In a newscast /system noticification app for AROS

The indieGO-Client will be updated step by step to reflect this.
3rd party clients are possible as well. Maybe someone like to do a Zune or MUI one.

There is more to come, step by step.

One important thing is the igo package system which will be introduced as soon all basic functions of the client are ready.
A preview and definition is available for interested developers.

Ok thanks it is a Bug.
That Ctrl+c closes it entirely is normal but may the only way to close it if you can't go back.

What is it all about? The news text is not understandable for someone who hasn't heard about it before, like me. Thanks.

Sorry.
This is a multiplatform AppStore.
Developers can upload and sell apps.
Devs can register here (scroll down to enter the matrix link)
http://indiego-gaming.com/marketplace
Hosting is free. In case something is sold, the systems takes 12% of the price away.
Included apps can be paid via indiecoins which again can be bought with real money.
It is also possible to by apps (voucher codes) from external partners. With the code you can download the app from the AppStore.
Developers can use earned indiecoins to buy stuff or can request a payout in real euros.
Users can pause and resume downloads, get news and updates.
Developers can make use of copyprotection and other feautures in their apps.

The store is for apps, games, music, videos and operating systems.

This is a short summary

@Thread

What is this HERESY of Amiga "APP" Store?

Appl...ications are for Apple OSX and related mobile.

Amiga has (and ever had) Utilities no applications!

So please call it "Utils Store" or more pragmatically: "AmiUtils Store"!

Let's make a stop to computer cultural dependencies from alien platforms we have nothing in common with.

Strange : ) I never said "Utility" except to the applications inside /Utilities : )
It was just Programm or Software(Overall)
Also it may be whise to use Mainstream words for such things because we should look ahead anyway (to new users with different background).

I don't think it has to do with Amiga or not Amiga but with "Generations" and their vocabulary.

And utilities just perform all those goodies made by so called "apps" on different operating systems... Like as calculators, notepads, viewers, etc...

If you want you can also extend its meaning and name to more productivity software like browsers and other software of same class like pdf readers, print enhance progs, crunchers, etc. etc. etc...
