Software News   Software News : PDFToolkit 1.1 released
posted by Lazi on 26-Apr-2015 20:41:17 (2861 reads)
PDFToolkit allows to reorganize PDF files. It can split and merge documents.
Additionally it can combine two or three PDF files by stamping over or add
header/footer/page numbering to existed documents keeping the contents intact.

It uses pyPDF python module by Mathieu Fenniak.
If you are online, it can download and install that
module automatically.
If not, you can get it here: http://pybrary.net/pyPdf/

The new version adds capability to rotate even individual pages in a document.

PDFToolkit is implemented in Python and can be run on OS4 and MorphOS.
OS3 is untested.

Have fun!

Of course you can download it from OS4Depot.

It is uploaded to Aminet too, however there is no link yet.

This looks useful. I wonder if it loads PDF better than AmiPDF which is getting old?

There is not much common in AmiPDF and PDFToolkit.
This is not shows the content of the files, however as you said: it is useful.

Can you extract images from PDF files with this tool? If not, is there any such a tool for the Amiga?

No.

There is commandline tool for this in the XPDF package. Don't know that is it ported to Amiga, but the source is here.

Pdfimages is the name of the tool.

The only way I tried that is opening pdf with PageStream. It is quite limited, but simple documents may be displayed correctly. I am successfully use that to extract images, vector drawings from pdf files.
