If it's true, thats really great news. I will be able to run it on both my Amigas. Suddenly PPC equiped A1200 will have more resale value too due to the fact that they can run the latest and greatest (hopefully) Amiga OS

Great news, if this is really true (especially because i own an Amiga1200/BlizzardPPC)! I will buy it for sure (additional to the AmigaOne I want to buy next year)

But: In the describtion of the IRC I can´t find anything "official" about that. Maybe someone from Hyperion could comment this?

And if it´s really true: When can we expect this version (after the AOne-version)? Shouldn´t the Cyberstorm-version run with a few changes on BlizzardPPC (expect of additional hardware-drivers)? Or is it difficult to build a version for the BlizzardPPC-cards?

BTW: Blizzard version was confirmed in the past
already by various people from Hyperion if they were asked, so it is not THAT big news... but somehow

I believe that there is a fair bit of common ground between the Blizzard and the Cyberstorm, I think I recall someone from Hyperion (maybe ben from amiwest) mentioning that when they looked into it it wasn't that hard to get working.

As I have always understood it, two of the principal reasons OS4 on the A1200 PPC has been a sticking point are the fact that the documentation for the BlizzPPC is slight/hard to get and that there are so many frankenstein add-ons for it...

There is a lot of common ground. The major differences are:

- The memory layout (Blizzard is a bit weird since it puts memory top-to-bottom, changing the start address depending on size).
- No hardware for TLB lookup (generically fixable, though).
- Hardware support.

The latter (hardware support) is the problem really. Most hardware additions on the 1200 are non-standard (because there really is no "standard" way to expand a supposedly unexpandable machine). This may produce problems, both in being able to use the original drivers for these products under emulation, and by providing the memory map/protection settings to actually be able to use this hardware.

So, the hard part isn't getting it going, but rather keeping it going.
