Amigaworld.net News   IMPORTANT - MISSING "NEWS" SUBMISSIONS
Amigaworld.net News posted by Darrin on 27-Jan-2018 17:20:02 (1971 reads)
We seem to have a problem with news articles being submitted and then getting stripped of all of the text except for the article title.

AndreasM seems to have found the issue and it appears to be the use of certain characters:

"but i found the problem. its are the german ue ae oe...
i change the word to Schuetze and then works
i think the textbox need an update. :)"

Right now I have I have two such articles from Petah ("Work on Tower57 continues, hints at powerful hardware in the Amiga Tabor") and what looks like a spam one from websiteshoppy.

While this issue persists, please type your articles in clear English and save a copy of the text in case you need to resubmit. I'll let people know by PM if they have fallen victim to this bug.

software OS4 posted by marko on 23-Jan-2018 23:25:14 (2122 reads)
New version of ShowFiles (sf) released.

CHANGES
Version 0.993: (Jan 2018)
- Added white color (pen 2) as foreground on executable files.
- Optimized the output listing, roughly about 41% faster now! Tested with 50 items (42 files + 8 dirs). The whole command before had a mean of 0.3399 s and after the optimizion now a mean of 0.2014 s. However don't trust these values too much though, as the values fluctuates pretty much.
- Made some minor changes to the three scripts.

Software News   Hollywood APK Compiler 2.1 released
Software News posted by softwarefailure on 14-Jan-2018 13:29:22 (1293 reads)
Airsoft Softwair, the hardest working men in code business, are proud to present the Hollywood APK Compiler 2.1. This version adds support for Android Studio 3.0 and makes the conversion of Hollywood applets into APKs even easier by erasing the direct dependencies on the Java Development Kit (JDK) and Gradle. Instead, the JDK and Gradle versions that are shipped with Android Studio are used now. So Android Studio is the only thing that is required by the Hollywood APK Compiler now.

Note that version 2.1 requires at least Android Studio 3.0 so existing users should only upgrade to this version if they also want to upgrade their Android Studio version. Keep in mind, though, that Google dropped support for older Android versions in Android Studio 3.0 so all APKs compiled by the Hollywood APK Compiler will require at least Android 4.0. If you still need to target Android 2.3, don't upgrade to the latest version of Android Studio and the APK Compiler. Finally, also note that version 2.1 is no longer compatible with 32-bit systems. It requires a 64-bit Windows so 32-bit users should also keep their old versions.

Version 2.1 of the Hollywood APK Compiler is now available for free download from the restricted download area for all existing Hollywood APK Compiler users. For more information on the Hollywood APK Compiler and how to order it visit the official Hollywood portal at http://www.hollywood-mal.com/

This release was brought to you by Airsoft Softwair, the hardest working men in code business.

News   Amiga Future is 20 years old
News posted by AndreasM on 14-Jan-2018 14:38:03 (1390 reads)
The Amiga Future Print edition has turned 20 with the number 130.

20 years, a long time. Many did not even trust us for one year. And now the Amiga Future is the longest published Amiga Print magazine worldwide. :)

Of course we want to celebrate this. Not just once in January. We want to celebrate all year long.
Look forward to many webpage updates, promotions and various subscription bonuses. Also we will be present at different fairs. In addition, we want to expand our magazine and webpage team to be prepared for the future. Our big goal for the 20th birthday: increase the readership of the Amiga Future this year by 20%. And we already have the first subscription bonus for you:

1. Amiga Future subscription 2018

The first 20 users who now order a subscription to the Amiga Future in our online shop will receive an Amiga Joker 1/2017 (Amiga Joker are a German print-mag) as a free supplement.
In addition, among all users who have extended their subscription until 31.1.2018, also an Amiga Joker 1/2017 (German print-mag) is raffled. Important! Our shop is not able to show if 20 Amiga Future subscriptions have been sold!
