software Classic   Hollywood Designer 7.0 released
software Classic posted by softwarefailure on 14-Apr-2024 9:45:15 (1072 reads)

20 years ago, on April 14th 2004, Airsoft Softwair, the hardest working men in code business, released the very first version of Hollywood Designer, the ultimate multimedia authoring system for Hollywood. In the following years Hollywood Designer quickly became the must-have software for all users seriously interested in creating state-of-the-art multimedia applications, be it presentations, slide shows, games, or applications. Now, 20 years later, Airsoft Softwair is proud to present Hollywood Designer 7.0, an epic update with lots and lots of new features to properly celebrate the 20th birthday of this marvellous piece of software.

As already said, Designer 7.0 is a massive update that boasts lots of new features and improvements over the previous version. We do not want to bore you, so here are just some of them:

* Use the full power of Hollywood 10 which was specifically designed for Designer 7!
* Color emojis, CJK text and complex scripts are now supported (using the Pangomonium plugin)
* Multi-selection support for pages and objects in all listviews and the thumbnail viewer
* Operations can be applied to multiple objects and pages at the same time
* Now uses the Hollywood 10 graphics engine for maximum power!
* Objects can be combined into groups
* Many new action events to work with object groups
* Unlimited undo and redo levels
* Executables can also be exported for macOS and Linux arm64
* Support for different font engines
* Graphics can be exported as palette images
* Radically reduced memory footprint, often reduced to just 25% of Designer 6.0!
* Configurable dynamic memory modes
* Custom character spacing support
* Several new example projects are included
* Full support for Hollywood 10's plugin interface
* Lots of other new features, optimizations and bug fixes

An overview of the recent uploads and changes to the download database of Amiga Future is also available from this link:

https://www.amigafuture.de/app.php/dlext/latest

Of course we also want to be able to offer you many more full versions online, but to be able to achieve this, for you, we need your help, so ...

We are on the lookout for the Copyright holders for Amiga games and applications.
Do you know of any such person or can you actively help us in our search?
If so, then please contact us by email.

We are looking for extra support in order to revise the full versions download area of the Amiga Future webpage.
In particular, to check whether all those full versions formats (ADF, IPF, WHDLoad, AGA, CD releases, etc.) are complete.
In addition, a short description, in 2 sentences or less, about each of their system requirements and some screenshots need to be created.
If you want to help us, then please send us an email.

News   Amiga Future is looking again for reinforcements
News posted by AndreasM on 10-Apr-2024 11:42:54 (823 reads)
Seeing as our printed edition of Amiga Future has now been published for over 25 years, we are at a point when we need to massively increase our editorial team for the magazine and also the home pages for our website.
The idea behind this is to relieve the workload on more of our entire team, to better distribute the load amongst all our editorial staff, and in so doing reduce the stress and workload on everyone involved, while at the same time further increasing the magazine's overall quality.

It is all in the hope that the next 25 years will be a little easier for everyone in the editorial team, and even better for our readers. :)

Kickstart Uk Amiga Show is back for its second year. The event will take place at Meadow Lane Stadium in Nottingham, England, featuring a two-day expo on Saturday 29th of June and Sunday the 30th 2024.

This incredible annual UK show celebrates the culture and heritage of the Commodore Amiga computer. The event will feature 18 traders, 10 community groups, 5 speakers, 5 performers, and hundreds of Amiga users.

There will be talks from developers behind classic video games of the 90s such as Sensible Soccer, Cannon Fodder, Lure of the Temptress, and Beneath a Steel Sky. Additionally, there will be gaming competitions, machines to play on and prizes.

We are hosting an incredible video game music night on Saturday at Saltbox Bar featuring performances from some of the world's best video game musicians, including a live performance by David Wise, the composer of Donkey Kong Country, and a headline DJ set by Pete Cannon, a jungle producer who incorporates Amiga in his music, along with many other talented musicians such as DJ H0ffman.

News   VD aktuell 03 - Spring 2024 released
News posted by AndreasM on 30-Mar-2024 10:56:53 (874 reads)
VD aktuell is back - as a german retro gaming magazine with 64 full-color pages!

We have developed our (German) magazine further and turned the program guide into a real retro illustrated magazine, with a travel guide, psycho test, puzzles and everything else that goes with it - simply lots of fun, easily digestible snacks that bring fun into the retro life!
In addition we also bring you retro news, we briefly introduce new retro games and also take a look at the movies.
Of course, the YouTube video program is not to be missed (this time with videos from Virtual Dimension and Fog Lake Production) and we bring the cliffhanger to a close with the third and final part of the VD short story "In search of the lost retro game".

As you can see, there's something for everyone! And if all goes well, you'll be able to hold our magazine in your hands every three months from now on.
