Gorky 17 for WarpOS Release (and Price reduced Heretic2/Quake2 on 6th December) |

Hi!
On 6th December finally Gorky 17 for WarpOS will be released.
The WarpOS Binaries will be available for free for buyers of the 68k Version of Gorky17.
Starting 6th December if you buy the 68k Version the WOS version will also be included
as a Installation Option.
Minimum Specs are 240 MHz PowerPC (300 MHz recommended) and 192 MB RAM.
The game has been tested on "old" PowerPC Cards (BPPC+CPPC), PCI PowerPC Cards (SonnetPPC and ApocalypsePPC) and also on some Mac-Hardware (Mac-Hardware with MorphOS).
Additionally to the release of Gorky17 for WarpOS between 6th December 2024 and 8th December 2024 the Games Heretic 2 and Quake 2 will be available at a reduced price on the Alinea Online Shop.
The reduced price will be:
Heretic II - 39,95 EUR (includes 68k and OS4 version)
Quake 2 - 11,95 EUR

MediaVault Script v1.6 has been uploaded to OS4Depot.
Allows users to select the default stream player for the MediaVault program.
Optionally, a requester can be displayed to allow the user to choose how to deal with the stream.
Various players can be chosen or the stream can be downloaded.
New for
v1.6 (Nov. 25, 2024) - Changes:
Added "User Settings to choose ffplay display mode.
1 - Waveforms. Used to much CPU on slower systems.
2 - Frequency band. Uses much less CPU time.
Added "User Settings" to set ffplay window size.
Made corrections to "User Settings" Player variable comments.
Added keyboard shortcuts to player requester

Alkmaar Amiga Meetup - Netherlands - 30 November |

On November 30, 2024, the Alkmaar Amiga Meetup will take place in the Netherlands at a beautiful spacious location in the beautiful city of Alkmaar. It is an Amiga meeting with the theme Amiga Next-Gen, think of AmigaOne (OS4), MorphOS, Amithlon, Vampire, PiStorm, Aros and emulation.
It is encouraged to bring such next-gen systems and demonstrate, of course all Amigas are welcome.
The event is a "meetup", meaning that it has a social aspect of meeting and networking with other Amigians. You can also bring your "gear", we have plenty of tables and even room to present something.
We have a "lounge area" to hang around, have some drinks and "chat". Catering for food and drinks will be arranged for visitors and is all in. There are a limited amount tickets available.
The entry price is Euro 20,- p.p. (all in).

Alinea Computer: New V2 of KickRom-Progger and KickRom-Flash released |

KickROM Flash Rom V2
The KickROM Flash Rom V2 is a programmable Flash-Rom replacement for EPROM devices (e.g. 27c400) or Kickstart-Roms in the Amiga computer. Up to 4 Kickstarts (512 kb each) can be loaded onto a module and switched via jumpers or a switch.
The special feature of version 2 is that the respective active block is also displayed via the LED display on the top. Version 1.x will continue to be sold until it is completely replaced by version 2.
A KickRom flash can be purchased from 29.95 euros. A programming service is also available for customers without a programming device.

KickROM-Flash Progger Programmer V2
The KickRom Progger v2 is a programming device for programming the KickROM flash devices. In addition, standard 27C400 modules can be read out. The programming device can be operated directly on your Amiga via the serial interface or on more modern computers via USB. From V2 the Progger has a new firmware with some new features and instead of a MicroUSB interface a USB-C socket for data transfer and power supply.
The KickRom Progger V2 can be purchased without accessories for 49.95 euros. A zero-force socket and a serial cable for BigBox Amigas are available as options.
As of V2, the Y modem is also supported via its own firmware in addition to the X modem protocol.
The programming device has the following additional capabilities with the Y-modem protocol:
- File size of the file to be programmed is checked before the programming process
- Support for packet sizes of 1024 bytes. This enables faster transmission.
- All 4 blocks can be read out directly and are automatically divided into four files and named according to the block numbers (rom_x.bin).
- All 4 blocks can be written directly to the respective block by naming the block number in the file name (file_[1-4])
- A byte swap is automatically performed for .rom based on the file extension

For customers of V1 of the KickRom Flash Progger we offer an inexpensive upgrade service. Customers who want to upgrade the programmer to V2 simply contact us at the e-mail address s.neumann@alinea-computer.de. For an upgrade price of 10 euros, we will replace the control chip and flash the new firmware.
