Allegro Game development library - Status update |
| Software News posted by Troels on 18-May-2007 22:55:31 (4573 reads) |
The idea to get Allegro ported to AmigaOS4 came from spotUP who needed Allegro to get more stuff to port. As spotUP is responsible for 300+ uploads to OS4depot I think that sounded like a great idea and the bounty was set up at www.amigabounty.net. We have so far reached 250 EUR but I was hoping more people would make some donations as there are now two people working on the Allegro port.

Gimp 2.2.13 alpha for Cygnix (AmigaOS 4) released |
| Software News posted by CygnusEd on 18-May-2007 12:21:11 (2931 reads) |
An alpha release of Gimp 2.2.13 is now available on OS4-depot.
Yes, this is another alpha release of Gimp. After publishing the last alpha of Gimp 1.2.5, I didn't want to release Gimp 2 in an unfinished condition. But I got a lot of requests from people, who liked to work with it, although the plugins are missing. So I decided to give the other users access to this pro- gram. Gimp 2.2.13 at OS4depot

Hatari is an Atari ST och STE emulator, and Ventzislav Tzvetkov has made a version for AmigaOS 4.
Hatari on OS4depot
From http://hatari.sourceforge.net, where you also find info about ports to other operating systems:
Hatari supports the emulation of most of the ST and STE hardware, including some special tricks like raster interrupts, border effects and PSG sample sound. A joystick can be emulated with the cursor keys or with a real PC joystick. Hatari also features the possibility to "mount" a directory of the host system as a ST drive, or to use hard disk images with its ACSI emulation. Note that Hatari mainly emulates the original ST and STE hardware – the emulation of the additional hardware of the TT or Falcon machines is currently in development and highly experimental.

Issue 49 of the CRYPTmag is now out. |
| Announcement posted by Zola on 14-May-2007 18:49:04 (3407 reads) |
Issue 49 - "Tribute to Barry Cann" is out now.
Barry Cann, a previous Editor of the CRYPTmag, passed away suddenly on the morning of 12th April 2007. He was a keen contributor to the magazine and previous issues are full of his Steam train articles, not forgetting his poems which were always though provoking and enlightening. He will be greatly missed by all the Staff members.
Rest in peace Barry.

| Announcement posted by AndreasM on 14-May-2007 8:49:09 (2744 reads) |
The issues 29 and 30 of the Amiga Future are out of stock. Because of that you can read the two magazines (amongst many other issues) online at http://www.amigafuture.de/forum/kb.php?mode=cat&cat=10 . The issue 66 has been released recently and is available in our online shop. Just now we work hard on issue 67.
No. 67 will be the first Amiga Future issue being published in German and English.
We ask all interested users to order issue 67 as soon as possible because we'll print only the preordered amount plus a small reserve.

An off-shoot of Back2roots.org known as Amiga Emulation for Beginners was designed to assist gamers who wanted to play retro games through emulation. However, just a few months after Back2roots.org was shut down the website vanished without warning and to the dismay of many Amiga gamers. However, Amiga Flame can officially confirm that the emulation website will return.
