News   The Amiga Future magazine - Issue 140 preview is now available to view online
News posted by AndreasM on 14-Aug-2019 10:20:53 (931 reads)
This is the full colour preview and excerpts of the Amiga Future magazine, issue 140 (September/October 2019) that can now be viewed online on the Amiga Future website.

Some of the interesting articles in this issue are:

AmigaOS 3.1.4 - That's how it's done! part 2
Review Hibernated
Interview Richard Loewenstein

Of course there's so MUCH more actually in the magazine.

Needless to say you often get other versions of software, often what was commercially available, as well as some of the latest try-outs or freely released software applications and games for, hopefully, all of the Amiga type Operating systems, so that's Amiga 'Classic', OS4, MorphOS, and AROS, including some PD software for these systems, all on the Reader's cover CD.

A detailed description of this issues contents and excerpts can be found at: http://www.amigafuture.de/kb.php?mode=cat&cat=13

The Amiga Future magazine is available as an English and German printed magazine - every issue is available in FULL COLOUR - directly available from the magazine editorial office and also from various other Amiga dealers.

Amigaworld.net News   Polybios 1.2 released
Amigaworld.net News posted by softwarefailure on 12-Aug-2019 14:23:56 (1419 reads)

Airsoft Softwair, the hardest working men in code business, are proud to present Polybios 1.2. This plugin can be used to create and view PDF documents from Hollywood scripts and contains the most advanced PDF rendering engine available on Amiga systems. Version 1.2 is a minor update and contains some fixes and minor improvements.

The plugin is now available for download from the official Hollywood portal. Thanks to Hollywood's cross-platform plugin system versions for AmigaOS3 (m68k, m881), AmigaOS 4, MorphOS, WarpOS, AROS (x86), Linux (ppc, arm, x86, x64), macOS (ppc, x86, x64), Windows (x86, x64) and Android (arm, arm64) are provided.

WinUAE users please note that you need at least version 4.2.1 because previous versions have a bug in the emulation of Motorola's 68020 CPU which makes Polybios crash.

This release was brought to you by Airsoft Softwair - the hardest working men in code business.

Events posted by spudmiga on 4-Aug-2019 21:55:15 (1132 reads)
Greetings!

The next NWAG meeting will take place Friday 6th September 7pm - 10pm at Murdishaw Community Centre, Barnfield Avenue, Runcorn, WA7 6EP (England).

This is the second meeting in as many months as we continue our plan for a monthly meeting. We had a Psygnosis employee at the last one, who knows who might turn up this time?

The location is situated accessible from junction 11 or junction 12 of the M56 and is a five minute walk from Runcorn East train station. There is on-site parking and street parking nearby. Subs are £3 per person, free for kids & OAPs.

Looking forward to meeting some of you there!

Uebersee, August 4, 2019

The official RESHOOT R mouse pad is now available in the APC&TCP online shop at the URL https://www.amigashop.org

Actually, the mousepad should not be released until the Amiga 34 in Neuss.
But as several users have asked again and again, we have decided to publish the mouse pad already now.

We hope you like the mouse pad.

Events posted by RobertB on 31-Jul-2019 4:50:16 (1553 reads)
The Commodore Vegas Expo v15 is getting near! August 9 is our set-up day, and August 10-11 we have the show from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. $25 whether you stay one day or both days. It's in the Desert Wind Salon (next to the Bingo room!), third floor, of the Plaza Hotel, 1 Main Street, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Have an early look at the room --

http://blog.retro-link.com/2019/07/desert-wind-salon-for-commvex-2019.html

After 15 years of shows, this year's CommVEx takes an retrospective look with never-before-seen videos of engineer Jeri Ellsworth, scener Peter Hanson, vendor Jim Scabery, and CBM engineer Dave Haynie (even a peek inside Amiga, Inc. back in the day). But we also have live presentations and exhibits from Matt Brewster, Mario Luppi, and more!

We have a PET 2001-8, Commodore 128, SX-64, and VIC-20 system in the raffle, and we have items such as Strikelink wi-fi modems for sale. Naturally, each CommVEx attendee will get freebies at the door and have a chance to win door prizes!

For more information, go to

or to the forum at
