News   Elboxs "usb.device" and "pci.library" DO contain RDB trashing code!

I had seen several reports of there being RDB trashing code in Elboxs "usb.device" but refused to post anything on the matter unless solid proof could be found, or the original accusations substantiated.

Unfortunately for Elbox, those accusations have been proven to be true....

News   First Tests: Intel's 3-GHz Pentium 4

Hyperthreaded desktop CPU delivers mixed results, but systems embrace it.

Intel is launching its 3.06-GHz Pentium 4 with hyperthreading technology, and major PC makers are readying PCs powered by the new CPU. In coming days and weeks, Dell, Gateway, and Hewlett-Packard, as well as specialty vendors Alienware, Falcon Northwest, and Xi, will roll out high-end products featuring the chip.

Intel says hyperthreading lets the P4 act as two processors, simultaneously tackling multiple applications or a single application with multiple threads. That should boost performance, but exclusive PC World tests show mixed results at best.

An eight-foot tall condom greeted Microsoft chairman Bill Gates during a visit to an Indian city, a tribute to mark his generosity in fighting AIDS.

The world's richest man smiled when he saw the giant air-filled condom in India's rising technology hub of Hyderabad, where his company has opened its first software development center outside the United States.

Software News   XVS Library (33.39) released and Virus Help Denmark are back up

Georg Hoermann has just released a new update of to his xvs.library. This library is used by many programs to recognise and remove a vast majority of todays Amiga viruses. The update can be found on the Virus Help sites, including the old Virus Help Denmark site which was closed while a new server was found for it.

Stephan Rupprecht has released an alternative to the NDK 3.5/3.9's reaction.lib for software developers. The reaction.lib contains support functions for the ReAction GUI classes from AmigaOS 3.5 and up.
