@HenryCase

Good point. But really both are the same. The core of each country has God as a major component.

Amiga as a platform has a huge number of components. More than ever before.
We are all winners when the platform is winning.

God would only have great plans for Amiga in its resection years. Or the years of rebirth as I like to refer to it.

Amiga is being reborn in many ways. It also has to shed skin occasionally for it to proceed forward.

@thread

A "bog standard" Micro A1 just sold on ebay for 1561 USD / 1060 Euro.

here

It sat at about 700 Euro until the last few minutes.

Interesting to see this, since there are less than 300 in existance and I don't recall a Micro on ebay before, not that I check that often.

It was the one advertised on AW:

Its pretty amazing considering the original sale price of a µA1-C. I probably bought one of the last new µA1-C's from GSS in Sweden a couple of years ago? I can't remember waht I paid for it but it was at least half that (I'm using it to type this post). I'm not sure about your 300 figure for the total number of µA1-C's though? I would have thought it was more than that but then again I don't know?

I have puchased another 4 on ebay which have since gone on to better homes. I suppose the current high price for µA1-C's (and A1-XE/SE's) reflects the rarity value and the pent-up demand in the Amiga market. With any luck we will see some new hardware in the not too distant future?

Ever hopeful,

TrevorD

ok. But this sale was at least a system in a case. Maybe you just bought the mobo?
When I said "bog standard" I meant "nothing special". Apacer 256 MB ram, etc.

Well documented in both irc and on AW.

A little known fact is that Eyetech nearly decided to wait for the MicroA1-I from MAI. It was August 2004 when I had met with Jason and Alan and told Jason that I would buy the 300 Teron Minis (MicroA1-C) as I felt there was a demand for them. Alan pretty much decided to take them right after that.

God would only have great plans for Amiga why exactly? You God's right hand man on earth or something that you know his plans? Get a grip man.

Well it just shows how desperate the market is for something new. Damn, I wish Natami would permit the abilitiy to add a PPC module to it should one want to expand it and use OS4+. It would be a great general hardware machine fully backward compatible with older generation of software the Amiga had.

Perfect combination really...

AAA x10 with PPC x100 performance ratio should one want to have it. I guess though the cost of developing a modular Natami would just be too great!
