| Hi
After a visit in bios to change the serial output for debugging my machine won't boot anymore
-------------
Loadsector failed Found an HD FLB: no SLB found in any of the designated boot sources
------------
I have tried a fresh install og OS4.1FE same error..
i have tried to install SLB again from HD Media Toolbox without any luck
any suggestion to fix the boot issue ?
Regards
/Luc

I suspect you have accidently defaulted the Amiga Boot Options.
U-Boot might be trying to boot from a CDROM but can't find the CDROM so it spits out this awkward message about SLB.
My system is a MicroA1 with a CD drive and a hard drive.
When this happens to my system, U-Boot shows three boot options ...
Boot Device 1 = Onboard VIA IDE CDROM Boot Device 2 = none Boot Device 3 = none
So, if it can't find an SLB on a CD it won't even try any thing else.
-------
My version of U-Boot may be different than yours, so the following steps may not be exactly the same on your system.
During boot ... hit space bar or enter key to enter U-Boot Preferences Menu
Using down arrow key, scroll down to Boot Sequence and hit enter key. Using down arrow key, scroll down to Amiga Multiboot Options and hit enter key.
Under Amiga Boot Options I see three boot devices ...
Boot Device 1 default setting is Onboard VIA IDE CDROM
I leave this as is so I can boot from CD if I have to.
I use down arrow key to move down to Boot Device 2 ..
Boot Device 2 default setting is none.
I want to change it to my hard drive ...
I use enter key to enter a table of choices, I use down arrow key to scroll down to the one I want. In my case it is Onboard VIA IDE DRIVE I use enter key to choose this setting.
You may choose something else if your hard drive is attached to another kind of controller board. Use down arrow to scroll down to your choice and enter key to select it.
Boot Device 3 default setting is none.
I leave this one alone.
Hit Esc key a few times until you see a table showing
Save settings and exit
If a different choice is highlighted, use arrow keys to scroll to
Save settings and exit
Hit enter key to save settings and exit.
This should save the settings, exit from U-Boot menu and continue the normal boot process.
----------
I hope this helps you solve the problem. Unfortunately it will happen again every time you enter U-Boot during boot. There is a safe way to do it but I can't remember what key to use that will not default your Amiga Boot Options.
----------
Cheers, redfox
