| Re: coupon sceme I remember Alan saying he thought it was a bad idea when Ainc spoke to them about it. I think everyone pretty much distanced themselves as far as they could from it.
If anyone's to be blamed for the impression that the coupon thing was to be trusted, it's the users who pretty much tarred and feathered anyone who pointed out Amiga Inc was unlikely to be able to follow through. The issue was always a flamewar, and during this flamewar, there were certainly people pointing out the fact that "Eyetech and Hyperion wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole."
If this is news, you haven't been watching enough flamewars :D
Heck, I'm sure Samface and I argued about it at least 100 times, so it's gotta be plastered all over the web.

I must admit as a user of pre-release I'm getting more and more impressed with it Now I've got it on the t'internet and got Yam (they from Wolverhampton or something?) working, I really can see myself using this more and more, the question is do I need the Wind*s PC these days?

Problem being that you don't get an answer when writing to them (not to mention that they even didn't seem to have an address for some time).
Ray Akay said in their forum that everyone, who didn't receive the shirt up to now, should send him a note together with the correct postal address - he would "collect them for a few weeks and hand the mails to the person who handles the sending".
That's what I did. I waited 2 months, but nothing happend so far. I asked him ín the forum, if he received my mail and I should wait a little longer - or if he didn't receive it and I should resend it about one month ago - and guess what? No answer up to now - neigther in the forum, nor via e-mail...
Nobody at AInc appears to care a #### about us - THATS what annoys me and others!
First they ask us to put our money where our mouth is and as soon as they got our money they treat us THAT way!
And now you and other A1-owners come and say: "If you want to use OS4 - spend some additional 1000 ¤ and buy an A1!", despite the fact that in the beginning we have been promised (by BillMcEwen/AInc, of course), that the cassic version would be the first to be available, and that all we initially wanted was to give OS4 a test on our given classic PPC maschines, before we bother to buy an A1. If ever - I didn't doubt that since your very first explanation/clarification to me, which might be two years ago or so. Quote:

I would have hoped - as you and your brother are the only ones of the three "triumvirate"-like partners AInc, Hyperion and Eyetech, that frequently talk to the "community" - that you could somehow arbitrate between us and AInc.
But that was just a hope - of course you're not obligated to do so.
Anyhow - such an measure would have been far better suited to create confidence in you/your products/Eyetech and even in AInc, than the constantly and repeated jumping on everyone, who just mentions this matter, to the extend of trying to get these persons banned from various forii (the latter one is related to some "community"-members - not to you, Rogue).
Please remember: We do not depend on anyone from AInc, Eyetech or Hyperion to buy from us - its rather the other way round - you are depending on customers to buy your products - so it could be a wise decision to treat them adequate and not to affront them...

As I stated above - its useless to write to them - they don't answer anyway...Last edited by Dandy on 08-Jun-2005 at 05:53 AM. Last edited by Dandy on 06-Jun-2005 at 11:53 AM.
