@Raziel

If they'd spelt it correctly, we'd have only needed to send 4 e-mails

@Raziel

You meant something like... T H I S ? ;)

Anyway it's little crapy - haven't time to form better light / fog or thinner edges [I saw it lateron original when the whole scene was ready ;]
I hope Christian doesn't own intelectual rights for smooth-edged boxes and imprinted fonts

in any case, sory for this (silly?) joke

@rolpho

What the...

Strange, if we discuss porting games to AmigaOS NO ONE came jumping in with a
working beta port of Half-Life 2 or World of Warcraft...

I would like all grey squares but for the one with AmigaOS on it which would be red, I think that would look nice.

I think that looked really nice but wouldn't it be more Amigalike if it was done in red/white checkered? Like a Boingball all flattened out!

Great image. Just a couple of comments:

Make the red less saturated and the white more bright so the lower contrast makes the icons easy to spot and icontext easier to read. Could be just my eyes that are deceiving me, but do I see a slight edge problem on the boxes before the round bevel or is it just me?

Otherwise great work. Keep it up!

@rolpho

Great work.. but!
Remove the Fog, or make it less foggy
And please remove the boing ball..

the last thing might be, make the boxes more random in height..

other than that.. really great work, for such a short time ..

ps. maybe as someone else suggested.. make them all Grey, execpt the one with the amigaos tekst on it.. just for another theme .. and make them both availble.

looks good never the less

@sicky

Thanks a lot for supporting. I think the subject of this thread has slightly
changed due the already good looking wallpapers made by rolpho.

@rolpho

How about some own ideas from you? You are really talented, show it to us.

Anyway, i think we still should show Christian that there are people caring for
his work, so that he may be interested in porting his (or even doing new)
projects to OS4.

37 mails still to go...

@Englyst @LaBodilsen

Thanks for constructive suggestions. but!

1) The whole idea was brutaly stolen from Christian Rosentreter - I simply thought to myself - it's too easy to demand 54 mails for this ... it had to be joke [sorry for my sense of humour ] - that's why I didn'y even sign it.

2) I hardly have patience for XXX rendering some scene to correct/move/add another ray of light or few mm of fog and so on [especialy, that for some reason lw couldn't finish rendering with radiosity] BTW: the "slight edge problem" might be caused i.e. by default black ambient of the scene...
Anyway it's rather silly to "spam" AW.net with X variants of the same pic - so in the future [if my lazyness let me do it ] maybe I'll put somewhere few other versions - anyway feel free to manipulate with it in any way you want...

@Raziel

I don't think that a lot of talent is needed for render 8x8 beveled cube matrix As for showign anything it'd be difficult, cause we [my group] doesn't own any A1 - so I could generate few screenshots from few projects, which i.e. may be dead in the future, or won't see the light of the new AOS4- and I think that Amiga world has enough of unfulfilled promises, deadlines, screenshots generators and so on.
BTW: I posted some time ago some OS4 propaganda backdrops on amiga.com & intutionbase.com

Also - I totaly agree with your point of view and already sent mail to Christian. Also for sure he could finnish his AOS wallpapers - I'm sure the (radiosity?) light will be better than mine

peace

@rolpho

Well, since I dabble in 3D and have promised some new backdrops on my website, I'll might do something like this. I do occasionally have time for these kind of fun projects.

So if anyone wants me to have a go at it, let me know here or PM me.

Raydiosity is lovely...

Thats more the ticket!

A1200's idea with the lone red cube is a good one too!

I'll mail this MorphOS guy too and mention these ideas.

@friggin *****

As always there is a registered user who likes to slander every OS4 screenshots or backdrop. These images are already voted 1/10 by someone. 1/10..... yeah really intelligent action, continue to troll voting, you're great.

@rolpho
Really well done!

@all
Please make a good vote for these works.

I've been experimenting a bit with a new wallpaper inspired by this thread and what people have asked about. Check out the preview on my site:

http://amiga.roomies.dk

Critique is ofcourse very welcome!

@NutsAboutAmiga

Thanks! Still fiddling with settings and I've put up a slightly larger image. The quality will be much better in the final rendering of it.
