@Niolator

samba caused a similar problem here once when the logs have grown too much.
this was caused by a changed network structure.

byebye...

I just noticed that I hadn't added anything in Picasso96mode. I have just done that and since then I haven't had any pauses. I have only been using Workbench for about a half an hour bur usually I would have had at least two pauses during that time. It could have been a problem with my screenmode settings but it is strange that the harddrive activity stopped in that case.

By the way: I see an error in the USB log. Interface bindning failed, what does that mean?

ScreenModes are normally defined in the tooltypes of the monitor driver icon,
using Picasso96Mode is no longer required.

Error -11 is USBERR_DETACHED. The bootmouse driver found something, when the
HID driver shall replace the bootmouse driver it looks as if the mouse was
detached. The log also contains "Hub port 2 disabled - port is empty." twice,
which looks as if your A1 does not have the USB fix applied?

I would try without anything else on the same IDE channel (if applicable) and also if possible a new IDE cable. Chances are though if you have one bad sector its only going to get worse...

If you have an x86 box you can put the drive in you could do a "non destructive" (to data) test using UBCD or similar using the tool for your specific drive manufacturer.

@Benji

I don´t have anything else on the entire sii-controller right now but I have some spare cables. I will try replacing the one I have connected. I will also backup the entire HD, luckily it will only take 2-3 DVD´s. My parents are planning to buy a new computer. If it really is my HD that is bad maybe I can replace it with their old HD, it´s only about a year old.
