I might be considering a SAM440ep for OS4.1, because i have been underestimating its' flexibility in term of modern hardware. It might not be a "monster-beast", but it has some neat features that might come in handy. For example the memory system is now using DDR instead of DIMM, which should give a great increase in memory speed.

Also, i am eager to use the new AmigaOS 4.1, and i love the Amiga too much. Now that i know the old A1G4XE can't be fixed, as it is dead, then SAM440ep is the next step. Perhaps the Flex-ATX version of it?

AmigaOS 4.1 looks so good and it doesn't demand so much, compared to Vista which almost eats up the whole PC only to be used to it's limit...

Stop considering and just do it.
You know you want to.

Does that mean you've found a way to overclock it?

@Helge

I take it there is no chance now of the faulty AmigaOne you recently bought being resurrected then?

You should buy one since you have been very enthusiastic about new hardware and also change your sig!

Aren't we seeing a pattern there?

AmigaOne available.
Skeptical crowd: It's too expensive. The Articia is buggy.

AmigaOne goes out of production:
Crowd: We need hardware. We need hardware.

Sam440ep is announced
Crowd: AmigaOS 4 must come out on the Sam440ep.

AmigaOS 4.1 is announced for AmigaOne
Crowd: Not enough new stuff. Too expensive. Old hardware. can't buy hardware

AmigaOS 4.1 is announced for the Sam440ep
Crowd: The hardware is weak. Too expensive.

Seriously, I am curious what the skeptical crowd will say when the next announcement comes. I really am.

P.S. sorry I am in such a ranting mood today.

Seeing as you asked, amongst many things they will probably say, again:

1) Is it in legal agreement with Amiga Inc?
2) Why has it taken a year to get a beta port of OS4 to new hardware?

I expect the response will be something about "not speaking for Hyperion".

P.S. sorry I am in such a ranting mood today.

@Rogue and Benji

Cheers, pals, just get out and enjoy the life for a day, you'll come back yto us in good mood. This is what I do when I'm in a ranting mood, I turn off the AmigaOne and change my hobby for a while. When I come back, I'm very happy to use it again

@Helge: To be honnest, we (well, I) don't really care what you might or might not thinking. As was saying Jahc, "the constant flip flopping of your opinions is ridiculous" and I will add: "boring".

@Rogue

A lot of people can't justify to buy a system as expensive as the SAM and not being able to do all everyday tasks on it. I somehow understand that.

Others just keep wishing for better hardware, and is never satisifed with what we have. I never understood that.

I look at my OS4.1 system as my main hobby and most hobbies cost some money. My Amiga hobby is not expensive compared to what some of my friends do. Sailing, motocross, golf etc, all hobbies costs money.

Well, the AmigaOne hardware was indeed buggy, and i think the SAM is underpowed and expensive, but if i had the cash i'd might buy one anyway.

I think i rather have bugfree hardware with slower CPU than an AmigaOne actually.

No! Better get a Quad core PeeCee einstead. Or wait - a Mac. Yeah, that's it, a Mac. Or even better an Efika. So many options. I am sooo excited!!
Can't decide, best would be I get a pot of hot air.

One more ;) : AmigaOS4.x is useless ;).

OK. I'm ready to spend my money for Sam440 and AmigaOS4.1 can any body show me a place WHERE it's is IN STOCK - NOW, TODAY, and if I will order with overnight shipping I will get it tommorow?

BTW. What is a reason to anounce the AmigaOS is shipped?

I'm not talking about pictures of boxes with prices, with the option "Buy it now" we deliver when we will have it.

The button BUT IT NOW mean NOW.

If shop does not have stuff, there is other "OUT OF STOCK".

Today I have bad mood. Most of the time I don't care about "amiga reality"

@kreciu

I'm not sure what you mean.
There have been posts from users that indicate the items you are discussing -have- been ordered and -are- in transit to the purchasers.

Added: stock of both Sam440ep and AmigaOS 4.1 has only been reaching the dealers in recent days. It is likely that all websites will be updated as each dealer receives their shipments.

@kreciu

it would help to know where the heck you live, for example and if you really wish to purchase it.
