My mind boggles a bit that some people have apparently missed all the AmigaOS4 news this year, or otherwise forgotten it. Just off the top of my head:
Oct 2009: (not this year but damn important) Hyperion had a settlement with Amiga Inc, vastly in their favour. Allowed them to work on AmigaOS4 without distractions, which probably helped all the later news...
Jan 2010: The secret A1-X1000 project was revealed to the world.
Jan 2010: Update 1 was released for OS4.1. Major bug fixes, particularly on the Sam440.
Apr 2010: ACube announced the Sam460.
May 2010: ACube announced OS4.1 would be ported to the Sam460.
May 2010: Update 2 was released for OS4.1. MAJOR update, with tons of new features, improved ease of use, a far more polished look, great stability, etc.
Jun 2010: First demo of OS4.1 (barely) running on both the X1000 & Sam460, at the Amiga VCF show.
Oct 2010: At AmiWest we found that Hyperion have started work on Gallium (OpenGL) & SMP (multi-core) for OS4. We also know that USB2 is virtually ready. We heard that OS4.1 will be released for Classic users.
And OS4.1 was demoed running well on both the X1000 & Sam460, at AmiWest.
Dec 2010: Ssolie reveals that Update 3 for OS4.1 should be released early next year.
Any other news I forgot?
EDIT: I had forgotten the demos of OS4.1 on X1000 & Sam460. Now added!
