This is very strange, what can be so secret about owning a.org??
But the show did not get cancelled, and it was great _________________ Amiga: A computer for the creative mind.

Yes it did not get cancelled good show.
I think the new owner wants to keep anonymous, while still trying to support the Amiga community. He may be someone famous, we dont know.
Wayne, from Amiga.org was on live and also Joe Torre had some chat about his past.
Was fun to watch

The new owner of Amiga.Org is Chuck Norris.
He already performed an ultra super roundkick at BillMcEwen in order to buy Amiga Inc too. _________________

| I think the most probable new owner of Amiga.org is DiscreetFX. They have the money, the motivation and the passion for Amiga to make the step into buying the site, but this are only my guesses.

| MobbyG got screwed over, feel sorry for the guy. Not a good start for the new owner, whoever he/she is, not that I care anymore.

| @Thread,
Are you kidding!?! The new owner of Amiga.org announces that they are going to reveal who they are on a live broadcast and then comes on via a phone connection (Skype) and says that they want to remain anonymous???
Well, I can only say that the new owners must have decided to remain anonymous because of the way they have perceived the Amiga community and it's abundance of "Bad Apples" which can make life miserable for just about anyone these days. I am disappointed that they chose to remain anonymous, but I can't really blame them. I hope that they will change their minds some time in the future, as I think remaining anonymous for a long term will not be good for Amiga.org.
I missed the live broadcast, as I was busy with visiting family this holiday weekend here in the USA. My Son and Grandson were getting ready to leave right around the time the broadcast was going on and since we have had snow fall the last two nights I needed to make sure he was going to be able to get out of town in his rental car without chains on his drive wheels. Luckily the plows have been busy and the Sun is starting to melt the snow off of the main highway down the mountain and he was able to get down without incident.
Can anyone give more details of what was said by the new owner(s) during the broadcast, as I just checked and a recorded copy of it is not available yet. I am sorry I missed it as I was looking forward to finding out who the new owner(s) is/are and from the other remarks made by those that did hear/see it, it was a good show. _________________ Amiga! | A new 'owner' of a forum I almost never read, and have never posted in is announced, and, err. just why should I care?
A forum, which as far as I can tell stands or falls by the quaility of the people posting, not the owner, not (mostly) the moderators, just the quaility of the posts of the people giving over their free time to provide information/views etc. _________________ Rage quited 29th May 2011 |

| @asymetrix Pretty lame when the A.org users expected the new owner to step forward and he/she had an agreement with the show hosts.
Not wanting to reveal himself to the community seems weird as it's generally a very nice community to belong to and I guess the new owner is most likely already part of it somehow?
Just read on amiga.org that Bill/DiscreetFX is new site admin there so new owner must be the netscape executive. I wonder why he spends more money on the Amiga community... Last edited by Troels on 29-Nov-2009 at 10:56 PM. Last edited by Troels on 29-Nov-2009 at 10:55 PM.

Rich directly asked Bill Panagouleas if it was him, and he denied it. But IIRC, Bill did say the new owner was an investor of DiscreetFX, and he couldn't name names._________________

I was pretty upset at the time, but if they want their privacy fine. As long as they help in the community its a good thing. It would be nice to know, but it does not matter.
Hopefully in time, he will not be shy any more, we can be quite aggressive at times - lol.
Anyway, the show was good, I hope we have more like this, watching active amigan developing stuff, chatting etc makes being more of a community that is sadly missed.
We are fun, friendly people yes ?
Amiga.org will not change anytime soon, so its business as usual.
If anyone liked the show, post a comment on the ART website, especially any Amigans who want to be on the show.
Anyone who missed the live video broadcast, here is the audio feed :

new Amiga.org owner changing his/her mind into revealing themselves. |
If the owner is the Netscape Exec, then I'm not terribly impressed by his decisions so far:
1. Closing the Amizilla bounty (seemingly) due to being upset by nasty remarks on an unmoderated & unread forum. 2. Changing his mind about revealing himself, presumably due to worries about how he will be treated.
Seems that he is REALLY insecure, and easily influenced by what people (might) say . Let's just hope that he proves himself in the future, and also grows thicker skin.Last edited by ChrisH on 01-Dec-2009 at 10:08 AM. Last edited by ChrisH on 01-Dec-2009 at 10:03 AM.
