Well I thought the whole site was a bit quiet now we're nearing this very important event, IT'S THIS WEEKEND NOW!!!

Could some of you amiga companies not SPILL A BEAN to drum up THAT LAST INTEREST - make that FINAL APPETIZERS, or small hints to make people say "AHH WHAT THE HECK I'M GOING ANYWAY"

Could some of you users here not try and advertise a bit with travel opportunities perhaps, or just make som peptalk about the thing.

It's just too quiet considering the biggest amiga event of the year IS THIS WEEKEND!!

I wish you all A GOOD SHOW and A GOOD TRIP and salute the organizers for making this happen, may it run perfectly smooth for ya

And before anyone asks I live in Denmark and can't afford such a trip ATM

What about a european version of Amiwest?, say in London or Germany, perhaps Hamburg or Berlin would be perfect. Whadda people think?

@djrikki

They are already many shows in Europe (Pianeta Amiga, Alchimie, small events all around the continent...), we do not need an AmiWest (which is by far the best North American event but is far smaller than let's say Alchimie in France where more than 200 people are attending the show).

@Hondo

By the way, you should keep cool and stop yelling like this on forums like this, I do not see the point...

@K-L

I'm trying to build up some momentum for the Amiwest show. I'm excited because it's now!, and look forward to hear how it goes. What the companies will say etc....no bad intentions.

Where is your party mood

And I still think we should make a new European show in say, London, Hamburg, Berlin, Copenhagen, etc.

@AmigaBlitter

I'm interested in information that comes out of AmiWest.

Bring on AmiWest UK and I'll be there.

I think you misunderstand me. I'm not shouting about Amiwest because I think there hasn't been enough talk about it. I know exactly how much people have talked. I've read all the threads.

I'm just giving the Amiwest show a last fanfare, a last peptalk if you want.

I'm only doing it because I am excited about the outcome (because it's been a long year with silence)

And because I thought hey maybe such a thread can make a few people go. People who actually had decided not to go (you know who you are )

At the airport and on my way. Need to check all the equipment and pick up the t-shirts when I get to Sac. Prep your questions for the AmigaOS roadmap discussion. This should be a loud show this year.

Doesn't need to be West Yorkshire, anywhere in Yorkshire would be fine

@ssolie

Just one question: is there really a netbook?

@klx300r

I dont think any news about Netbooks is going to be enough unless it is available on AmigaKit/online shop available to buy immediately.

I want to here about new partners, new Amigaos features, new available systems now.

Then what we hope to acheive in the next 5 years, how each year success is to be measured.

I want to hear how the userbase is increasing, special projects.

I want to here new investors, strategic hardware parts manufacturer in China.

News of multi platform ports, AmigaOS on new devices.

On software side, admit the problems with developer tools, hire new non Amiga developers into the fold and create a roadmap to improve tools for porting and RAD, hell even a Visual Basic to Amiga C converter etc.

New games that show the power of Amiga
Contrast the strengths of Amiga vs PC.

It would also be a good opportunity for hardware developers to inform about products and sales targets and how they would make better systems and how they plan to improve hardware and also reduce their Bill of Materials, in effect to significantly lower hardware prices.

Mobile phone makers are controlling their own direction and reducing their hardware prices too by reducing their Bill of Materials.

http://forwardthinking.pcmag.com/cell-phones/295297-mobile-core-wars-how-the-chip-makers-stack-up

What is cheapest platform for hardware.

I could go on and on..

I originally didn't want to go to AmiWest, but as it happens my plane will land in San Francisco in on 20th of October, before noon. So if any locals could point me a way to get *quickly* to Sacramento, I'd consider to drop in. :) Otherwise I have to miss it, it seems, but such is life.

I only have my PowerBook with me anyway (I don't even dare to mention the OS on it). I'm not sure this device is allowed on this event anyway.

@Chain-Q

how long do you have? you could take the train from emeryville to sacramento or hire a car. MorphOS usually has tons of machines at the show courtesy of AmigaDave, and the show is about amiga -- so not only is your powerbook allowed, it would be welcomed.

well, assuming it was running MOS or UAE as opposed to OS X.

hope we see you there!

@retro

'project metropolis?'. unless bill or tedd decide to make a surprise appearance, i wouldn't think any of the folks at show would know anything about it. as for details on the next OS update, yeah, i hope there will be news on that front as well.
