It seems like Amiga.com is still alive and kicking - now there is an image with the Amiga logos, and a licensing text. - From a new entity called Amiga Corporation.

I wonder what happens next? outcome of the trial, etc. ?

@klx300r

Mike mentioned several times that the name C-A Acquisition Corporation was erm...ugh.

afaik Amiga Corporation was one of several new names floated around.

@Petah

All those logos are de-facto Cloanto logos and trademarks (both the word marks and design marks). As is the website/domain itself.

Friends,

a comment within the excellent HTML code of the page*, encoded with ROT13, appears to say, in Latin:

"Ut unus fiat ex pluribus"
(One made from what used to be many)

Brace for some abysmal frankencompany!

VVVVVOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

MRJM

* so excellent that they had to embed (aliased) text in the main picture rather than using a simple webfont and a centered paragraph. Oh, wait: right, both features would probably be beyond current "Amiga" browsers' capabilities.

Rather aimed at the future, IMHO, like: So that may become one what used to be many.

So someone has a sense of humour and updated the webpage with some nostalgic Amiga markings.

Big deal. *yawn*

Well since this freakin' website has been paralyzed for years - I consider it news that it has changed that much.

Maybe the logos is a sign of what is about to come.

@Senex

The ”Commodore” trademark might be the final missing piece C-A Acquisition Corporation might be going after. They already have all the other old Commodore IP, that last brand name is the only thing missing to make what used to be many become one.

Spectacular. A website with just as much content as the actual company's record of Amiga achievements over the last 22 years (not considering trademark-and-abandonware harvesting and putting a crippled front-end around WinUAE).

Remember before Amiga Inc and Cloanto, when OS development was not taxed for the brand recognition. When everyone where allowed to use brands without fear of being sued. When cooperates did not bundle software without consent and make money of other people work. When Amiga companies actually made software. Before people started trying to make money by selling books about how screwed up this thing has become. before things are cut up and sold as collectibles, to keep companies going.

@Hypex

As I said in post #3, it was meant to put the new name in place.

Mike spoke of this everywhere he gave a talk or q/a. It's not a secret.

His legal advice prior was to do nothing with the website. Obviously this small change was acceptable at this point.

@Petah

The first minute should suffice:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUD7y5mpTao&feature=youtu.be

The webpage is basically a realignment of what shows on the opening slide last year.

And "United for Beauty" on the slide is pretty much an echo of the rot13 message that MEGA_RJ_MICAL mentioned above. Nothing new.
