Its the summer, the nights are longer - tis the season for Parties for the sake of Parties!

Please use this topic to submit ideas you have for Big Bash 2.
The last one was huge - lets see if we can top it!

The venue will most likely be the same place as last time, in Peterbourough. But this time we can use the field as well!

@Bobsonsirjonny

If you make the event similar to the Carlsberg TV advert you wont go far wrong...

Imagine your greeted at the door by a leggy blond who welcomes you to the show, hands you a free and insists she show you round the stalls wearing nothing but a thong... she then shows you to your own room in which your favourite music is being played, hands you an A1 laptop and sits you in the world's most comfortable chair. She then insists she dance for you while you code Amiga software...and when you've finished yr chosen application/game she will "reward" you!!! I'd imagine most people would whip out a variation of "Hello world" within seconds!

@Welshguy

Well perhaps a demo party would be an idea then - people have a couple of hours to code something or can start before the party but unvail what they have made at the party?

@Bobsonsirjonny

Does sound like a good idea - maybe it should be split into 2 groups though - A Classic Amiga coding competition and an OS4 one - would be a good event for the masses while also increasing the amount of available OS4 native software. It wouldn't have to be anything complex - just a basic utility or something?

I still think my previous post is the way 2 go though!!!

From what I heard of the first edition I don't think "Amiga computer show" is the rigth word. More like, beasts on alcohol and that sort of thing. Oh and there is no way if I would go to a future edition that I would take my wife with me. You howling dogs!

It would be good if some of the " Big Wigs" could fit this into their itinery too.

Would be kewl to buy Alan & the Friedens a beer.

Maybe a showing from Garry Hare ? (ok ... dream on !!)

I will have to see if I can rope Mikey_C in on the PR/Media side !!

I think whats really needed is a good image put across to the non-amiga (the non-enlightened fools!!!) public - maybe have the show broadcast around the world by a bi-lingual page 3 girl? Now that would be cool !

@Bobsonsirjonny

I'm looking forward to seeing what this turns into. I really like the idea with a demo party. A few compos both classic and nextgen, a big screen playing demos and classic games.

Any dates in mind?

Hi,

The demo thing is a nice touch.

But how about having such a contest organized by AmigaWorld? I mean that you have a contest written out about making Utils/Games/Demos etc. Nice boost for the site? This I mean separate from the Big Bash 2. It sure would produce some nice programs and other stuff. Anyone?

Hmm, that sounds like something the platform could need, a contest that focus on utilities and applications, perhaps even games instead of the usual demos. It would encourage development and give the platform more software, and lots of other benefits aswell i am sure.

@Step

I think Utils/Applications/Demos/Games is a good thing. Getting some original stuff. No porting of stuff but genuine made. I do feel that certain stuff needs to be ported but it seems these days it's all about porting this, that etc.

Take for example ReportTool. Small util but a good one. Good catch!

I was thinking to hold it sometime around the end of August ... From about 12 noon to 23:30 on a Saturday.
