| Hi,
Anyone know of a decent free text editor ?
I used to have Cygnus Ed, but have no idea where the floppy would b these days.
Can't handle that WB 'Ed' program, it's annoying.

| @treblesix Try os4depot.net and search for "editor" and you'll find a couple you can try out. _________________ ExecSG Team Lead |

If you like CygnusEd, you will love MicroGoldEd, it's simple but powerfull texteditor, it's about 10 euro only (or so)... try it and support it! Last edited by glwxxx on 14-Apr-2005 at 03:15 PM.

BlacksEditor seems to be working on OS4/µA1 for me. Where does it crash for you? Maybe it's a version issue.
I always used Turbotext and it mostly works on OS4. However, the "Find/replace" editing functions crash so I switched to BED because it is very similar to TurboText. In fact, when I first discovered BED I thought it was a "TurboText" knockoff. Even a lot of the ARexx commands are the same.
I just wish Martin would release the source to Turbotext so someone could at least fix the 68k version to work completely on OS4.

He'll galdly release the sources, but they're written in some obscure modula2 dialect, so no point i doing that. I would've loved an OS4 version of TurboText...

BED can't load config files for me, it gives an error on every single line of the config file. It doesn't matter now, since I'm used to JanoEditors excellent tabbed window. I just changed the menu keys to be more like BlacksEditor... although you have to do that in the source code and rebuild it with JE. _________________ Playstation Network ID: xeron6 |

Great news. And, good luck on your coding.
Do you have a feature list, or new feature list?
