Amiga OS 4.1 Final Amiupdate

My Amiga OS 4.1 Final Amiupdate scans and downloads items. I get a message saying it cannot unpack the file would I like to save it to Ram. How do I get it to unpack and install updates

If you mean you're still using the AmiUpdate version which came on the AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition CD, then don't! It's way too old to function correctly. Go to amiupdate.net and get the latest (at the time of writing 2.58) and install that (don't rely on the self-update in earlier versions either, that also doesn't work correctly in some versions).

You may also need to make sure you have the latest version of AmiSSL.

After that, you should be able to get updates with AmiUpdate again.

Need to manually update the auto update tool and manually install a key depedency before it will auto update. Got it.
