Since the report button still no longer works, I propose removing ALL recent posts from The_Necromancer and a motion to consider suspension. He is seemingly seeking to hijack the front page with old threads dug up from 2005-2007 regarding irrelevant PPC developments (or lack of them) from that era! No new thoughts are offered and no points made other than pithy statements relating to his chosen avatar! His aim seems to be ongoing malicious manipulation of this website because he can! His activity is not welcome here!

For my surprise the report button did work some days ago. But only on Firefox. Now nothing again.

I think this site needs a bigger fix to the problem, as it seem to be getting more and more hit with bots posts and bots signing up. Plus there are a few things still broken.

I want the site to continue and do appreciate the efforts of the last few mods/admins on here keeping the site going, its shame you cant have nice things.

Since he's doubled down on his efforts, I would suggest baning him and locking threads after 3 months of inactivity as a minimum response. This is a new internet age of time wasting and pseudo-personality avatars taking centre stage above knowledge and discourse. We must react accordingly to stop the destruction of valuable knowledge repositories like this forum.

You might want to read your previous post in this thread as it seems a tad bit duplicitous. On the one hand you want to prevent thread re-animation, while on the other you call this forum a "valuable knowledge repository". Well, which is it?

There is also difference between a social forum, and a support forum. This is a social forum, where people bring up what ever, a support forum is about keeping track of problems, this are two different concepts, a social forum (bulletin board), you do not have ticket system, topics can’t be closed, when they are done.. with a support system, you have a team working resolving issues, and tickets are closed (often called CRM).

Yes, I believe "The_Necromancer" has come to revive old threads.

Yes, that's a nuisance for readers, because it made an impression as if something important was added on those old threads.

But I don't believe this is enough to suspend him.

I would suggest:

"Threads that where not touched for 6 month are closed ..."

What is missing are admins who could do such a change.

"The_Necromancer" is right for pointing to old postings presenting a naive ideas about how things might go on (at least that is my interpretation) but we all failed or had wrong ideas.

Most things are f___ed up more than we ever thought and we have to live with or own gullible old posts and thoughts, that are still online on forums.

I didn't know he had a reason for his actions but I assumed it was to screw up the recent posts on the front page because he can! He adds no new comments regarding the old information but expects us all to ponder again thing like Troika's aborted attempt to launch the Amy '05 etc?! Without a clear reason to do so this in my opinion it's just malicious manipulation of the site with pithy Harry Potter quotes probably because he's missing Halloween?! This is an Amiga forum not an episode of Smallville with a "freak of the week" character given centre stage!

Rude. Yes he does exist. Look at site history.

He has been trying to do what he can. Problem with AW, is its been custom modified a lot. Which makes it harder to update.

I think another thing is people need to realise and understand. All these issues were inherited. Previous owners never did anything about it. So I think you can cut Sibbi some slack.
