I should not have moderator rights on this site

Hello everyone!

Out of curiousity I was looking at this site again, after not being involved for over 15 years. To my surprise I still have moderator rights, and can edit news. Maybe even more surprising that my old username and password was still working.

So, while we wait for things to be fixed, anyone wants to edit something?

@zerohero

Well, this site is in a dire need of more active moderators (at least against the regular invasions of bots). However, moderators inactive for years may be even more dangerous, because their accounts may be taken over by malicious actors - if their passwords weren't secure enough.

Moderator or not, hope you stay with us some time. It is a little bit rough here (certainly not worse than times you remember ), but still a quite nice place for Amiga users.

@pavlor

I've not done anything Amiga related since I quit here, except for the odd email regarding AmiFTP or DOpus4. No idea what's going on at all.

@bitman
I could, but would be weird to do so

uhm...wow. blast from the past.

This is no place to have a conversation. Since you departed most activity moved to Amigans channel in discord.

There is an invite link under "chat" pull down menu on Amigans.net. Perhaps you'd like to catch up on some "things"? (evil grin)

And i still have in the signature links to your os3/os4 crosscompiler suits which still works ! (while today they not relevant anymore as everything updates much since for both os3 and os4, but i just didn't take attention to delete it from signature)

@zerohero

I'm still using your version of DOpus4. Still does the job admirably.

The only real problem with it is that it does not iconify properly and prevents WB from shutting down. I get around that by ensuring it is open (uniconified) and running on its own screen. It would be nice for it to iconify properly though.

@BillE

It was 15+ years since I touched any code at all, but I'm guessing it still locks the Workbench screen while iconified. Not sure if that's easy to fix or not

EDIT: and I'm not fixing it, I don't have the tools for it.

Wow there's about a year since I first registered and you did and yet our user ids are about 2000 apart. Assuming most of them were genuine signups at the time, it really was the golden age of Amiga users coalescing online.
