@LUISTHE

You know I have to be honest, I have read many weird questions and requests but this one tops them all. Just what exactly do you plan to do with the A1200 blueprints? Sell them? Modify them? Destroy them so no further development of the A1200 will occure? I am seriously deseperate to know what are you'r intentions toward the blue prints?

@Foody

Maybe he's gonna print them out on his bed sheets. I would...

You need another one to play when the computer is actually ready to use.
Maybe add more for malfunctions and then we'll have music all day.

@pixie

What are 20 years in Amiga time, friend pixie?
1 day is "two more weeks", 20 years are "two more weeks", too.

The exhumation test fell on this thread randomly,
and yet it seems so on point.

For instance
shall that "new commodore" do anything to get back the rights to Amigas too,
and grace us with an Ultimate 500 or Ultimate 1200 of sorts?

ARE YOU READING, "PERIFRACTIC"
are you?

/m!

@Thread

There are 2 reason why answering a thread should be blocked (IMHO)

1. If the thread became inactive for a 3 years.
2. If a thread grows to long (> 10 pages)

And before people starting to call it censorship:
You can always open a new thread continuing on the usually changed topic.

@OneTimer1

Why? We are talking about a world who ceased to exist 30 years ago, exactly is the issue talking about old threads? I can't see the sense on it... exactly what's bad to you exactly? Just doesn't click to open it

1.
Old threads are sometimes re-opened by accident, leading people to help cases that are closed years ago.

2.
Endless threads are losing their topics, it is hard to search them for some meaningful information.

@OneTimer1

Because sometimes a thing happens, solution shut all threads... I don't even have issue with the problem you bring on.

No one is forcing you to come again into those threads.

Sometimes, you can even contribute to it, instead of opening a new thread free of relevant context. I am thinking more in line of ear threads, where instead of creating a new thread the user might find a relevant thread where to put a relevant issue.

Sure, my friend,
as often as 4000 years old burial sites are re-opened accidentally,
oh whoops! I kicked away this gigantic false door!!

Old threads are dug up for a reason.
If they are re-opened, it must be because there is something to be added.
EVER HEARD OF COLD CASES?

And the internet is becoming too big as well,
it's also so hard to search it for meaningful information,
so you know what? Let's close it down and start Internet2.
What did you say? Better search engines? I CAN'T HEAR YOU, THE COAL FURNACE POWERING MY 8086 IS BURNING TO LOUD.

Friend OneTimer1,
you are basically negating the very principles and features of a forum.

Its permanence and potential to go back to past conversations and continue them, as opposed to a chat.

Its existing data partitioning in threads, and threads into pages, which certainly doesn't require someone to further artificially slice them EXCEPT, I will concede, in the case of brutal OT derailing.

EMBRACE WHAT MAKES A FORUM A FORUM, ONETIMER1,
EMBRACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@OneTimer1

I do empathise with this specific viewpoint. Some conversations are done, and only belong in history. Other conversations are ongoing.

It's not a bad idea to have long abandoned threads being automatically switched to 'read-only', conversely a fairly simple workflow should be implemented so that threads can be revived for practical reasons, avoiding revival by mistake or an act of bot.

@agami

thanks for your support.

My intentions are simple, keep the threads displayed for occasional visitors actual and new.

So many forums are filled with threads that went dead long ago, that will be a red flag for people interested in the actual topics.

---

All forums I visited in the last 3 years made a very sad impression, it was hard for me to find something about Minimig / FPGA systems. They where full of inactive message boards.
Just look to the Natami/Apollo forum, dead links, inactive threads, non answered questions, it made the impression like if the whole Vampire system was dead (not even undead, just bloodless to be precise) -
