AmiWest 2019 is now over and I'm pretty sure there are some unanswered questions.

Please post your questions below and I'll do my best to answer them.

There are always unanswered questions.

What's the status of the Tabor audio driver?

Is more work needed on ExecSG before the A1222 is released? If so what's on the to-do list?

@ssolie

If this strange non clean room Exec (have access to original source with NDA and stuff and then port and enhance it to other CPU using other language = not 68k asm and then suddenly you own it) ownership stuff and transfer "works" is it theoritcally possibly to use the same "method" for some of the other OS components as well? Which? Or all/most other OS components? Or why would that only be possible with just "Exec". What's special about it?

So could someone who currently has legal access (but with NDA and stuff) to source of say "intuition.library", port and enhance it for some other cpu and to be "safer" also do some easy translation to other computer language (like C to pascal). And then "own" the result. So that he can then do what he wants with it (NDA and stuff no longer applying). Like also sell it to someone else?

So If this "works" not only with Exec, but also other things, wound't that be a good idea to use to "fix" all legal problems ...?

@ssolie

Is X-kernel part of ExecSG now or is not used at all?
How do you plan to release updates for general public, with Enhancer, with AmigaOS update or a separate new product?

@ssolie

Do you have any info is someone is trying to get the audio working via RadeonHD cards?
(then we would not need separate audio cards for basic/normal use)

I think Hanz work for the AEON team, not ExecSG team, so maybe asking the wrong person.

@bennymee

You asking wrong person, but i can say that there wasnt any Nova ir RadeonHD fixes for year. Even single one. RadeonHD have some urgent bug to fix when everything freezes when we fill more than 256mb of gpu memory (that didnt hapoens with Polaris driver on the same hardware for example, so not Os fault probably).

On milions questions i ask , all the info i have that Hans working on bugfixing, but no single entry in bugzilla that anything in that terms being worked on, so i doubd bugfixing even starts. Maybe someday.

He means sth different, IMO. Why so big change in Enhancer version from 1.5 to 2.0 if nothing big comes out. I know what could it be. Several tips appeared from time to time.The newest one is in Trevor's speech during AmiWest but I will not tell because dont want to be dissapointed, again. Its sth more important than the famous 3D

@mr2

I mean he ask wrong person about RadeonHD. SSolie is person working on ExecSG now, and have no connection to RadeonHD/Nova development , its only Hans know as developer and Trevor with Mattew who pay for.

Now sure what you mean there, but what can be more imporant in graphics drivers, than famous 3D ?:) famous 2D ?:)

edit: and he ask exactly about RadeonHD , not about RadeonRX (just in case:) )

@Rose

Then it can be just number increasing :) Or new feature, in which when you will found a bug, will be not fixed in years :)

From Trevor's presentation I heard some good and some bad news..

Good news (1) is that Tabor will be produced!
(2)Libre office is in alfa/beta stage
(3)OS ExecSG kernel is in good hands

Bad news (1) That mark II Tabor board isnt produced allready
(2) No audio driver for Tabor yet (two years)! I expected presentation with some legendary amiga demos.
(3) Price of the board 450$ for 100 privileged byers. Others and I will pay 50-100$- 200, who knows?
(4) Not dilivered missing drivers for X1000, X5000 on board chips
(5) Little news about X5000/40

All this make me thinking that legal situation slowdown things and that year or two are past in wars and that consume time.

No mention ACube laptop project, no mention of posibility to build new hardware in cooperation with them to incorporate audio chip with good suport.

Slightly dissapointed...

2D would be nice too but its not what Im thinking about

I really would like AEon stop teasing with us and tell what the hell is in Enhancer 2.0.

We are continuing work on it again after a long hiatus. It won't be a problem.

Yes, more work is needed for sure. We have a floating point emulation bug to fix which is very annoying for example. Plus I want to make sure we have more SPE accelerated functions in there like CopyMem(), StrLen() and so on. There may need to be other tweaks as well.
