Maybe Atari ST is the future of RPG gaming. The Atari ST had Dungeon Master a year before the Amiga, over half of Atari ST owners bought it and this article talking about RPGs on the Atari ST doesn't even mention it. The first comments mention it though although it is not mentioned anywhere that the Amiga version was better when it finally did arrive. The Atari ST was a good value computer that was overshadowed by the Amiga more so that the black and white Mac that went on to become more than both the Amiga and the Atari ST. The winners write the history books. Everyone knows Steve Jobs and Bill Gates but barely anyone knows early computer pioneers like Chuck Peddle, Jack Tramiel, Jay Miner, etc. A good example is the "Oral History Panel on the Development and Promotion of the Motorola 68000".
Both the Amiga and Atari ST are in the same category of not important or too embarrassing to mention even by the 68k developers. The general public is likely worse with the Amiga well on the way to being forgotten and never heard of by younger generations. Atari at least has some new affordable and powerful hardware like the Atari VCS for $159.99 with AMD APU.
Atari has stated that the unit will ship with "tons of classic Atari retro games pre-loaded, and current titles from a range of studios". Conuladh stated that there will be "hundreds" of Atari games, plus a number of other retro games from other catalogs. The console will ship with Antstream Arcade, a game streaming service that supports titles from the Amiga, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum and arcade games.
Much better specs for Amiga emulation than the A600GS for not much more price. Atari is ahead of Amiga now. It is time for Amiga fans to where the bag over the head in shame.
