@shastar

Thanks a lot, did you actually convert pics say from iff to jpg ? Does the thumbnailviewer show pics ?
I am just wondering, because the splashscreen on your screenshot should also show a little image on the right side. See my screenshot: About Window iBatch

The file to be shown is called "banner.iff" should be in your iBatch_WZ directory. Is it there ? Can you open this file in Multiview ?

Thanx for additional infos !

greetings gerograph

Yes, banner pic works...just some weird bug in os3.9...but it works now...

ibatch converts my iff pictures, but it seems to left a empty thumbnail folder on source dir...Not in destination dir (se screenshot of directory opus)

maybe im doing somthing wrong...

Thanks for testing, sounds good so far, you are not doint anything wrong...

Quote:
but it seems to left a empty thumbnail folder on source dir.

Well, iBatch automatically creates a thumbnail folder inside your sourcedir. Before you start the thumbnailviewer (creating a batchlist), iBatch will process previewpics and save them to ../sourcedir/thumbnails. Therefore thumbnailfolder should NOT be empty ?? !!

The final action, will be undertaken on your original files in sourcedir and will be saved in "outdir" afterwards.

So, to go deeper into that:
The thumbnaildir ist something like image.db in Windows, all "viewing operations" (e.g. iBatch's thumbnailviewer) are using the thumbnails. Thumbnails have the same name like their original "sourcepartner". This means for example, that a camera holding 5 pics in sourcedir will have 5 previews in subdir "thumbnails". If you take two extra shots they will be added later on to your thumbnaildir, the other 5 pics WILL NOT be reprocessed. thumbnaildir is therefore always in sync with sourcedir, and you can easily use any picviewer to preview your pics on your camera, even on a slow Amiga ! Furthermore, you can also use external thumbnailviewer instead of the one bundled with iBatch.

greetings

New Beta:

ibatch Beta 24

- Thumbnailviewer remembers made selections, if Batchlist is not deleted. Even after Coldreboot of Amiga
- Button "show" on 2nd Tab is activated, shows your batchlist, editing function still disabled (WIP)

@samo79

Thanks a lot for testing, I am new to programming, so your crash log doesn't tell me to much. Can you find out which lib is the problem ? Guess it is wizard.library. But I cannot reproduce that error on SAM 440 OS4.1U2. But I applied a few changes to the code which might help. So could you please replace the ibatch_WZ_beta24 Executable and info file with this one and retest:

www.geobiz.de/beta25exefiles.lha

Thanks a lot )

@gerograph

You must check those libs for existence and version:
If dos_CheckLib{"wizard.library",42}=False Then serror{"wizard.library v42+ is missing!"}
...
Includes check them by themselves, but BlitLibs don't do it.

@Wanderer

I checked for most of the needed libs incl. wizard.library, of course. This is why Samo97 gets an alert window (via error.include):

Quote:
Alert window say:

Missing libs:

zlib.library >3.2
jpeg.library >6.2
wizaed.library>42

I donnot know why this happens, even if I delete wizard.library, I just get an error message and thats it, no GRIM... but might be the WZ_Tools.include. If so, obove Beta 25 should work.

Remember that the library remains in memory once it has been used or loaded. So if you open it, close it, then delete the library binary, it will still be in memory when you try to load it again.

To test your recovery, you need to warm reboot or Expunge if you are using OS4.1.

Your program MUST check the return value of every OpenLibrary() call and exit if there is an error (closing all the open libraries as you go, of course). Otherwise it will become known as one of those programs that crashes unless you have xxx.lib installed.

Of course, I did a reboot afterwards, iBatch then calls "dos_CheckLib" (AmiBlitz Function) to check for existence of libraries, all missing libraries are written into a list, and will then passed to a requester telling the user which libs are missing. So I think iBatch acutally does exactly what you proposed. I give you that, I donnot know about the internals of "dos_CheckLib" Function, but I guess we have to ask The_Wanderer about this.

So let Samo79 trie the new beta, might have been a mistake in the external Includes...

dos_CheckLib{} uses OpenLibrary() to see if this library can be opened, and closes it again.
You might have a quick look at the source, by either going into dos.inlcude manally or clicking on the funktion name while holding ALT.

Thanks, a lot this claryfies (Typo ??) that it is due to WZ_tools include... made a workaround in Beta25. So it is not that I am not checking libs correctly ! So next release will have that fixed...
Thanx for discovering that bug,

I gave BetaV24 a single try. Selected a folder with pictures (bob:multimedia/bilder/bachground) with around 10 pictures inside. Selected ram: for output. On the second tab nothing was shown at pics overall, ... so I clicked on show - nothing happened. I clicked on Make/Change Batchlist, that crashed the whole machine (mouse not moving anymore..). I use zlib, wizardlib from aminet, jpeglib from os4depot.
At least I have to say that FxPaint is my favorite program to do batch processing with images.
