we will see how this "1200 NG" will look like and what it will offer.

AmigaKit's "The A1200 NG", its PiAmiga (UAE) based product with rabbit hole like features to Linux.
With some libraries that allow you offload work to ARM cpu, without having to emulate everything. (native data types, accelerated true color graphics, maybe icons.)

So by allowing Linux to render web pages, and start Linux apps, you can use this system as normal computer more less, but its not a clock cycle prefect product. no FPGA's to simulate AGA.

Its not a replacement for A1200, it main point of existing is being a low cost gaming system.

its not a PiStorm compatible product.

@NutsAboutAmiga

Personally I have to admit I stopped caring on AGA in the late 1990s ^^

@MagicSN

Well its good thing, is lot different option to choice between, sure something for everyone, most Amiga games are AGA games, and most demos are AGA demos, if we are talking about content, sure its not like we can’t emulate it a fairly decent quality, but expect a little bit more time to hit the monitor, when going into frame buffers, and stuff like that.

Not everyone agree, a lot demos are being made for AGA/OCS, i think might be requirement. no P96/PowerPC stuff.. it looks that way... some times I wonder if like don't want it run on AmigaOS4 / PowerPC.

@MagicSN

for many current amiga users chipsets are still important. In fact for many 68k+chipset+amigaos=amiga. I do not share it but that is how it is

@MagicSN

Phase 5 PPC equipped Amigas are bound by their A2000/A1200/A3000/A4000 minority install base.

A2000 and A1200 have a few 100,000 unit production scale each model. A1200 had RTG via BlizzardVision.

A3000 and A4000 have a few 10,000 unit production scale each model.

Factoring in the attachment rates, I don't think Phase 5 can survive with such low numbers.

It's a good bet that AmigaOne PPC production scale is even smaller.

Relatively recent Vampire (AC68080+RTG) and PiStorm-Emu68 (very fast software 68040+RTG) tapped into the majority A500 install base. These combo accelerators are roughly similar to A1200's BlizzardPPC+BlizzardVision combo.

In 1992, A500 had a single fat CPU accelerator with a PPS 040-28/040-33 board without RTG, hence it was a dead duck with 256 color gaming.

My "for parts discount, but working" A1200 purchase during the COVID-19 lockdown is based on luck. After selling my A3000 in 1996, my remaining Amiga was a spare A500 model with a broken PSU.
