@kas1e

Sending stop won't quit MPlayer, it will stop the video, hence close the video, which is what you want.

@fab

Put in the cgx_common.c , to the case IDCMP_CLOSEWINDOW:
mp_input_queue_cmd(mp_input_parse_cmd("stop"));

And then when i trying to close video window = crash, with pointing out on the play_tree_iter_up_step()

Quote:

About the p/esc keys not working, i guess it's because you don't have the expected idcmp flags set in the fullscreen mode when opening the window (just like in window mode before).

Yep, now all fine.

@all

Final re-compilation is going on for now, and after some minuts upload query.

What will be there in compare with previous:
-- no alignment problem in overlay
-- overlay supported in the gui and command line modes
-- no crashes on exit (that cause for altivec-version some leaks of memory, but its better than crash. For generic one all is fine)
-- no more 100% cpu loading because of -O4 optimisation (now all compiled with -O2).

Works.

The most big thanks to big daddy Fab for sure :)

Btw, for the mplayer Thore also implement some new stuff in our Dtpic.mui class, and so, with update4 (or dunno where and when it will be), and muiowb and mplayer buttons, will be highlighted/pressed and not static.

Ok, in upload query now. Do the tests, and report problems/questions/suggestions , hope Fab will in interest to answer on your questions :)

I for now also send message to os4depot admins to open bug-report area for mui-mplayer as well , so feel free to report them when it will be opened. Better to collect them in one place just in case.

I'm doing a couiple of tests now.

The first a OGV I recorde from my webcam via linux an age ago.

It reports the usual "your system is too slow to play this" message (on the command line) , but then plays it too fast! Even taking into account the intial sticky frame followed by a catch up, it still plays too fast. Actually I just connected the sound abd it's playing fast too! Pinky and Perky play the blues It's perfectly in sync just about twuce the speed. The earlier non mplayer plays it correctly, although it reports some bad packet errors to the console.

Note with the above I can slow down the video by selecting -fps 15 but audio rmreians played at twice the correct speed /pitch (or thereabouts)

@kas1e

Well some quick report then

1 - First of all i put the generic exe into the main folder but now all the button in GUI are not showed anymore !
Maybe some path issue ?

2 - Drag&Drop on the direct playing window does not work using p96_pip driver while it works fine using the usual cgx_wpa, this is an important fix to do ...

3 - p96_pip had an iconify support in video window but it doesn't seems to work, need to be fixed aswell

4 - I have an MP4 video with a limited size, it will be open to the center or the video screen only with the left and right side of the window "trunked" at some point, (don't know how they create such type of video) aniway if i double click on it to make it at full screen i have the left background part showed as black (and it's ok) but the right side have a white background instead !

I try with Reaction MPlayer and it show both side as black with the video showed at the center of the screen

5 - Resizing the video window at the minimum cause an immediate freeze, this is always reproducible altrough you need to resize at min with some insistence ...

AFAIK a similar bug was present also in Reaction MPlayer on AmigaOne (see the Reaction MPlayer bugtracker on Google page or ask Varthall)

That's all what i find for now, quick test as i say ...

Speed seems ok for now thanks to overlay, cool !

@broadblues

It very nearly manages to play the HD mp4 original of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sJTYNKRGuI at full speed. Probably running at about 80% I'd say, which I'm quite impressed with. There's no audio jitter when the audio runs out just before the end of the video it repeats the last section endlesly rather than simply falling silent.

The video is 1280 x 1024 and runs at 10fps

@kas1e

Ok about point 4 i found a solution using 16:10, this seems a common problem here as several video are not showed correctly, some white background at left, at the bottom and so on ...

Now using 16:10 all video are opened at fullscreen without any glitch, but problem still

I have found also a DSI (skippable) crash, again always reproducible here:

Open a video and watch it entirely, when the video output wil be closed automatically (the end of the video) just click on the play button in GUI

When posting a crashlog you really don't need the task list and librares list, it just makes the page long!

The top section down to the stack trace is all that is needed (in most cases)

Maybe some path issue ?

How do expect the thing to find it's images if you move it? It probably looks for them in PROGDIR:

BTW It would a nice refinement if it could be configured to use AISS images.

Well on previews version i moved the exe continuing to have all buttons showed without any problem, maybe images was "integrated" into the exe or availible in both path ?

From: I'm actually flying into a bug!

Really good to see http streaming works (have now reinstated getvideo.cfg play part) without problems.

And DVD playback? On my system that's not so good, I have to copy data to HDD before I can use DMA. But if I do that, then I can get, with -framedrop, about 20 fps with deinterlacing of interlaced video, which is just slightly better than I see with a 24 fps progressive video direct off the SATA drive, in PIO mode.

DVD caching seems to cause mayhem with AC3 audio, it gets somewhat, but clearly, distorted.

@broadblues

Motion JPEG freezes here as well (especially valid since your video did not have sound).

@kas1e

Testing this new version and work fine but not reach the speed of DVplayer.
Thanks to all involved on this new version.

But I have found some problems and as we are here for the problems

1. Sound play with too much speed:

some .wmv files are showed with too speedy sounds and this time a DSI:
(Maybe because older version of the codecs).

2. caches files settings cause freeze:

On Mplayer settings, if I add a caches files (default:0) to 2048 and play a .VOB file, play some seconds and a freeze.

3. Playing with volume gain during play cause DSI:

If I play with audio->volume gain during the play of my same VOB file and change from 0 to 10 and rechange from 10 to 5,.... the VOB file restart at the beginning and a DSI came (after 2 or 3 time changing the volume gain value).

4. Fullscreen with lots of small movie cause sometime a DSI:

I load a range of differents small movies. Mui-player play some and I decide to jump to fullscreen. First MUI-player not keep the fullscreen state and jump to window for the next movie file.

But also I have reproduced 2 time a case than, when jumping to window mode for the next movie file, no movie start and little second of sounds and a DSI:
