Finally finished with the video. I sound like a russian talking English :)

I was already finished with the video using windows movie maker week ago but i really wanted to do all the encoding and editing on the amiga. This gave me alot of problems like buggy audio/video codecs etc. But hey here it is.

So i managed to get it down to 28minutes. I use singlefile. But dont worry. I made a first page with a timetable and ofcourse a lastpage with credits and other stuff. And some pages are just showing my equipment and playing some music.

Getting into HD-REC

@broadblues

ffmpeggui encoding, i think i used mpeg4 for video and mp3 for audio.
then simplesub to put the subtitles but it wouldnt make the sub bigger so its pretty small.
also videoclipper. But i can say i had ALOT of problems. All this tools are dependent on ffmpeg and mencoder and some codecs are buggy, other dont go with the other. And what fools me even more is that some gets out of sync played on amiga with mplayer but they play fine on the windows machine.

Alot of nailbiting, headache, alot of days, but i fixed it somehow. Also thanks to KTadd for helping me with his apps.

To mentation. I started this thing making the video in windows moviemaker. Took me some hours instead of days of problems. The original files were in .mov format from canon camera. Mplayer on amiga would only play noise so i had to convert them.

But as amigan as i am i just had to do it on the amiga.

Wonders how Hollywood is for movie making ?

And i know you make yours in Blender. Have to learn how to use it. But i think i need 3D drivers first for my x1000.

@Kicko

Watched the vid now. Nice. Well done.

I notice the oscilloscope works for you, it never does for me, was that fixed in the latest version?

Yeah previewing the video while your mixing is a pain if your player does keep up.

Blender has the advantage you can render the vid out scaled down so that you can check for sync then rerender full size once your happy. But subtitleing would have to be done by hand so it's all swings and roundabouts.

@ll os4 users

HD-REC can get odd redraw artifacts while moving stuff on the screen. That is if you have composition mode on which i think most people uses that have enough gfx mem.

A tip is to open hd-rec on own screen (what else:) and in the workbench:prefs/screens put hd-rec on the list and disable compositing on that screen.

The same problem is with arteffect too, so there you can do it the same way.

@wanderer

Is there something you can do on your side or should we just disable composition ?

@Wanderer

I found a bug at least here under os4 on x1000.

I cant have open both notation (midi) window and the sample (audio) window. The grimreaper appears. I sent you a pm with the crashlog.

@Kicko

I probably ran into this one (DSI) a couple of times when I was looking around.

Nice with visualisation :)

HD-Rec crashes on the sourceforge version with DSI in this way:

Holding RMB wherever on the screen and release it. (popupmenu under mouse)
Holding RMB on the titlebar menu and not choose anything like "project" and release the RMB.

What works is choosing from titlebar menu like load project, preferences etc.

However with old version v09z Beta (2010-01-14) i dont get this problems. Works ok.

I tried replacing the config file with old one, i tried old bins files, disabled audio/midi etc. Nothing helps.

You can check the grimreaper log here if you can see any important info.

heres my…

I'm sorry to hear about your issues with HD-Rec. It seems like a bug related to holding down RMB in certain contexts, which might be specific to newer versions or system updates. I recommend trying the latest version from SourceForge as suggested by @Broad and also checking for any available patches that address this issue on their support forum.

Here's what you can do:
1. Download and install the latest HD-Rec version from https://sourceforge.net/projects/hdrec/?source=desktop
2. Follow [the installation instructions](https://sourceforge.net/p/hdrec/) provided on SourceForge.
3. Check if this new version resolves

I used Base64 encoding for that.

@broadblues

> If you have more than one sound card, you can in principle record from both at the same time, but no app I know of takes advantage of that.
AHI doesn't support this.

@lucaricossa
Recording from different sources is not what we call multitrack recording here. If the AHI driver allows you to select the source, any AHI-enabled program can record from the different sources.

The user suggests that while multiple sound cards exist and theoretically could be used simultaneously for recording, no known application utilizes this capability with respect to audio interface drivers like those of the AHI. The second comment clarifies that multitrack recording isn't simply about selecting different sources; rather it involves using software capable of handling such tasks when provided by an appropriate driver and hardware setup.
