Hi Scott,
Quote:
Out of curiosity, have you tried booting up with extensions turned off and then trying to run the MiniCAD 7.0.3? The MAC forums suggest that an error 28 may be the result of an extension incompatibility problem. You may have something in your extensions that causes the program to choke and die when you start it up.
|
I saw that too. I haven't tried it yet, mainly because I'm booting off MacOS 7.6 disk image files that are still left from my old Shapeshifter days. That system was already tuned to the bare bones to be able to run emulated already.
So I've been thinking that there shouldn't be any extension conflicts, etc. within MacOS.
I also read that rebuilding the desktop might fix the problem. I tried that, but it didn't help.
OTOH, I thinking there may just be some subtle emulation difference between Shapshifter and Basilisk. Will it ever be found?
Thanks,
PJS

I would love to be able to run MacOSX10.5.8 in a window, or separate screen, at the same time I am running OS4.1.5, and maybe DOS-Box in another window, or separate screen.

The problem now is how fat & slow MacOS has gotten.
I work daily with OSXv10.4 and it's sluggish on a 1.5GHz G4. Later OSX versions are even worse. We have a dual-core intel Mac in my office with the latest OSX and it's consistently about as (non)responsive as my PPC machine.
Basically, MacOS has gotten fatter and slower in proportion with all the horsepower enhancements Mac hardware has received over the last years.
I can't imagine running any newer OSX under some emulation on any PPC Amiga would lead to anything but dissapointment.
OTOH, the Classic & PPC MacOS would be pretty quick if it didn't have to go through a CPU emulation.
