| Indeed, Swedish.
Given the Joe Rogan podcasts, this is now a no-go.
I believe I’ve mentioned that I was part of the posse that delivered the A1, and gave some support to the Spotify guys. IIRC it was never meant/targeted to be an officially supported port, but could’ve been part of some sort of unsupported deliverable (as I believe was done for other OS’s). The idea was that this was to be carried out during Spotify's hack days, and I was there on a few occasions trying to help in getting the client library to compile. Partly the port was motivated by the Spotify devs by getting aid in finding endian issues. There was some progress made, but with lack of time and incentive I think it just ran out in the sand. I guess the machine is still on their premises somewhere.
All in all, it was a serious endeavour, at least as serious as it gets for a hobby project. Somehow I get the feeling that the necro-bumping this tries to, at worst imply some sort of scam, or less worse poke fun at the attempt. If it’s either, it’s a shitty take. It was well-meant, and aim was at getting Spotify for Amiga. Simple as that. Even ten years ago Amiga-projects weren’t known to succeed, so I think I no-one is particularly surprised at the outcome? I mean, I blame myself partly, I could’ve been more keen and tried more. But, if it’s hard trying to motivate yourself spending time on this so called hobby, imagine trying to motivate an outsider.
Addendum: this was ten years ago. There are more things to it than I care to remember, and I might remember stuff wrong. So, take everything with a huge pinch of salt. Last edited by jaokim on 03-Feb-2022 at 11:14 PM.

| Do we even have HTML5 yet? Small dependency on other platforms but, Amiga?

HTML5 is not enough for Spotify. Widewine/DRM module is needed as well so no go just yet (not even on Wayfarer) |

I do not doubt that you were serious... but the people in spotify should have said no and not taken the hardware or give it back |

| @The_Necromancer I know a bot that brought this old thread, but it is a reminder of a time when I feel OS4 and the NG market was a bit more ambitious with its projects and felt there was more momentum behind it with little efforts like this (yes it didn't pan out, shame).
I have to say, I've not really felt that in the last few years, I mean I wish OS4 had a bit of a more thriving market and community.
