Amicygnix & Gimp 2.4.7 problem

Just installed the latest version of Gimp 2.4.7 on my Sam440ep. The earlier 2.2 version was working fine but the new version, although it appeared to install OK, does not startup when I click on the Gimp icon. Do I need to install any files or is this supposed to work "out of the box"?

Thanks

TrevorD

Thanks, but no difference whether I start from the menu or the icon.

@TrevorDick

I don't use this, so I'm just going from what it says on OS4depot:

Quote:
To launch the program doubleclick on "Start_gimp.bat".

Is that what you tried?

Yes, and from the menu as well.

@TrevorDick

Please check the script flag of the start script file "Start_gimp.bat"! It must be set.

I understand that you're experiencing issues with programs launching only via the Start Menu. This behavior might be due to your system settings or a specific issue related to certain applications. Have you checked if there are any updates for Windows, as this could resolve compatibility problems? Additionally, verifying application-specific configurations may help identify and correct the problem.
