AmIRC 3.8 *beta* (23.1.2010) - Some notifies could occurr twice if "All messages" was ticked. Fixed. - Added donation button.. please use it frequently! - Replaced all "MorphOS" in catalog strings with proper "AmigaOS" ones. - Added automatic nick change on AWAY and UNAWAY. - Added workaround for broken MUI_Group class always returning true for MUIA_ShowMe. This may not work in any case though :-/ - Added automatic detection of other users in the channel being away. In that case, their names are shown grey (instead of black) in the userlist. This is updated every 60 seconds. - Improved MODE notifications to display more human readable text. - Added option to select the style for URL underlines, dotted (default) and solid. Are you happy now Mario? :) - Added mousewheel scrolling in history without the need to place the pointer over the scrollbar. This uses the OS4 mousewheel stuff. - Fixed non-scrollbar scrolling to correctly update the scrollbar. - The close gadget of a chatwindow can now get configured to iconify AmIRC to its traywindow, to iconify AmIRC completely, to close the currently open tab (if more than 1 is open) or to quit AmIRC and all tabs as usual. - Fixed MUI application registration. AmIRC 3.7 *beta* (20.1.2010) - Lowered default debug output to Errors, Warnings and Asserts of debug class "always". - The "beta nag requester" now doesn't show up anymore after it was accepted. - Fixed DSI for built-in ARexx GETLINE function. - Added AmiUpdate support. - Fixed DSI when clicking on an already activated tab. - The notifications can now fine-tuned in AmIRC->Setup->Events. - AmIRC ARexx scripts can now actually get started again. I tested it in irc.amigaworld.net and it works very well. Does not time out after 30 minutes (45 minutes online now) and seems to be stable.

Copied the new executable in my AmIRC install from 2004 and it worked nice. I have all the servers from my config to use.

i remember a Morphos version few years ago.

I didn't get well if the guy is the same.


edit- Nicolas Sallin is the MorphOS version port coder, about this one, no clue ... "Author: The AmIRC team"...

I wonder if it has 2 long standing bugs fixed.

Resuming files cross-platform. (In a specific direction. I can't remember if it's receiving or sending)

Forced part/rejoin without any interaction from you = crash. (If someone performs a SAPART on you, and then SAJOIN in to the same channel, without you clicking on any tabs inbetween those actions). I documented the issue in the AmiMSN readme.

FWIW, the AmIRC 3.10 beta, OS4 PPC native has been out for ages via AmiUpdate.

It's surprising for me finally to see this classic 68k app in native form on OS4. Personally I've expected an AmiCygnix port of XChat...

Funnily, I tried to chat today with Uberchat from my PS2 without success on connection. The old AmIRC works fine on AmigaOS 4 (always worked), and it does not matter if it is native or not, since it uses very little resources. But the new version have some bugs fixed, which is good.

I've kind of hoped that this would happen but didn't think that it ever would. This program I used all the time in the 90s and will use it now for sure .

The only two bugs that I've seen are that when a person sent me a picture the preconfigured MIME settings was set to open it with multiview which caused a DSI. It did continue and worked though.

The other thing is that if you change the background colour and scroll up the colour changes to grey again untill you scroll down and then it changes back to the colour that you've configured.

Off to try it out!

It's based on the latest source Oli had. Note: he doesn't have anything to do with it anymore!

We replaced all MorphOS strings because using the more general AmigaOS seemed to fit better. And no, it won't be OS4 only. It just needs far more testing and the OS4 version is what I can test/use myself, that's why I released it as public beta. Other versions will be released when time has come and the rest of the team has more time again.

Oh, and feel free to use the donatebutton inside AmIRC ;)

That would be cool - I really have good recollections of AmIRC! Back then it was the IRC client everyone wanted (even the windows users)...
