| Hi all !
In the last month, i working on the video about E-UAE, where describe basics and the roots (i even find and build very first UAE 0.1 for OS4), show how current E-UAE behave, compare with old E-UAE, discuss compositing, how it emulates latest os3.2.2.1, how integrate dbl-click support, etc, etc.
Hope some of you will find it interesting, or, at least, kind of entertainment.
The music used in the video are from rloaderror/Ephidrena, and used with his permission, of course. There is :

WOW!! Thanks so much for sharing your video. Very interesting and well done.
I also use E-UAE on my OS4 system to emulate AmigaOS 3.2.2.1.
In my case, I use full screen mode so it looks like the Classic Amiga has taken over the system.

There is some work to be done.
I found my byteswap copy code is too slow, so I had to revert to old assembler optimized version, I’m actually surprised at the speed. Its almost mem copy speed.
But its picky about alignment, so P96 memory has to be allocated as aligned, and few more changed need to make not crash at random. Last edited by NutsAboutAmiga on 06-Aug-2023 at 12:13 AM.

Nice!
I use both RunInUAE for WHDLoad games and my own scripts for games that were HD installable (eg. Ambermoon - it is even possible to quit emulation automatically when the game ends).
On a side note, E-UAE I use (that one before compositing addons mentioned in the video) sometimes starts with grey screen and locks up my computer, are there some newer binaries for download? |

I don’t think RunInUAE uses a special version of EUAE.
There is tool to control UAE, I never looked at it, perhaps you can submit your idea to whdload-to-uae comment section on OS4Depot.net. Also, EUAE can be controlled by AREXX, also something I never looked at. Perhaps that’s what its using.Last edited by NutsAboutAmiga on 06-Aug-2023 at 09:44 AM. the newer version does not do bogo mips thing in the start, so starts faster. also it always starts, while old one had issues, can’t take credit for these changes. (already fixed before I start on it)
One thing added Ka1e did not talk about is, inserting disk images, by drag and drop. thats also added in EUAE.
OpenLibrary code was moved to one place in the start, it used to open and close things all over the place.
Some features I did not know about, before starting on EUAE, like grab mouse was moved to window buttons, that also goes for Fullscreen button. I use Simon's glUAE because it's just set of AmigaDOS scripts, which mean you do have full control. I didn't like RunInUAE myself because it overblown with all sort of binaries, arhives, whatever , brining unnecessary windowses , have "binaries" for doing work, etc, etc. glUAE it just few scripts, and nothing else. Nothing which i not need, and doing only what i need.
RunInUAE even come with some E-UAE binaries for whatever reasons (probably to help users to not download anything from anywhere), but then, i love to do all clean, and download everything myself and install it by unpacking to necessary place from dopus :)

I just build my version from latest LiveForIt's code there: https://github.com/khval/e-uae-1-0-0 But not the very latest (because when he do "merge" work, something went wrong and introduce big issues with speed and mouse sutterings in 1920x1080 screenmodes). So i use code from the "keyboard mapping" commit, there is: https://github.com/khval/e-uae-1-0-0/commit/918aa004bc9af19a161c4c60bc32025e0f5d6e44

Thanks for mentioning glUAE and explaining it a little bit Just one note (especially for who isn't familiar with glUAE): to run games with WHDLoad, it is not necessary to create a launch script and/or the startup sequence, as glUAE takes care of that automatically if it detects a slave. For the details: http://www.retream.com/glUAE/ > TUTORIAL > 4. WHDLOAD-READY APPLICATIONS
