not a major change, just another flavour that you might like - or not.

hardly a successful strategy to refer to, same as high prices for 4k class computers at that time. i always was puzzled why this is exactly users that bring it as excuse, apparently that somehow comforts them.

@wawa

I am sorry.
I cannot help you to feel better
You may need to learn to get away from the concept of material value to be happy in the Amiga World.

i do to certain extent. at least when it comes to my amigas. however, all dedication aside, i would never ever pay a full new price for an a4k, not then, not now, and im certain, there is quite buch a folks that think alike..

@recedent

Ok, cheaper than I thought. But my point still stands: the price of an OS on a machine can't be included as part of the price of a machine. In other words, you can't say that the Sam is bad value just because the OS it was designed for costs extra...

@Spirantho

but without the OS it's pretty much useless so you have to include the price of it.

@wawa

Looks like not many people wants to pay for cheap Windows PC's either.

@Spectre660

seems to me that the offer is being received well by those actually interested in SAM systems and being denigrated by those you would expect to. par for the course.

the lowest price you can find are the sam systems.

maybe:

low-end systems: Sam4x0 (OS4)
middle-end systems: X1000 (OS4), MacMini, PowerMac G4 (MOS)
High-end: PC x86 (AROS)

i receive this offervery well, if it is an offer that is. because i consider an offer if there is something new to offer.. the question is who buys?

@eliyahu

i jumped in for the fun.

But seriously imagine if the little 440ep CPU on the Sam440ep machines had the assistance of a Radeon HD GPU harnessed for Graphics and Video as well as OpencCL type functions.
All Integrated into Amiga OS from the ground up.
Any experts want to give and idea of the possible boost in performance from just a video card upgrade plus an OS upgrade ? Taking us back towards the original Amiga concept.

@wawa

Acube in their promoion have indicated that the Sam440ep mahines will be able to handle Amiga OS beyond 4.1 well . Once this can be demonstrated then they should be able to sell them without much trouble.

@wawa

It cost me about Euro742.00 3 years ago for a Sam440ep-Flex 800mhz,1GB of ram and OS 4.1 .
The size of the case and the strength of the power supply being offered tell me what
Acube may have in mind. I think that when we get public demo's of OS4.2 graphics performance on the various hardware options the value in this Sam440ep offer will begin to be clearer to you .

i dont even see what is there essentially new about this offer.

The user Spirantho appears skeptical, questioning the novelty of Acube's offer for a Sam440ep-Flex board with OS 4.1 and additional RAM. They seem to anticipate clearer value once public demonstrations are available showing new graphics performance improvements in OS version 4.2 on different hardware setups.

The user wawa, who is presumably associated with Acube (potentially their username), responds by acknowledging Spirantho's concerns and indicates that the upcoming demos will clarify what makes this offer significant compared to previous versions of OS 4.1 on similar hardware configurations.

From a technical standpoint, wawa
