Is this the secret plan to "rise" above the competition. To "probe" areas where other OSs dare not go? Does it come with custom hardware?

Hmm, I am not sure if many would say that Eyetech is a "trusted" manufacturer, they rather had a certain reputation as a hardware vendor before. ACK=Adam Kowalczyk, I don't know if there are other people involved in ACK. Adam is OS4 betatester and heavily involved in the development. I remember him rather as a software than a hardware guy. He did Linux drivers for the Prometheus and Mediator if I remember correctly. Unfortunately, it was never finished for the Mediator 1200.
Some Canadians should know him from the Ottawa Amiga Shows, he is a regular there.
Uh, before I forget, I voted for the ACK PV for $300USD. It has the highest WAF (wife approval factor) since I can hardly justify why I need a 5th computer on my desk. My A1200 is already towered and equipped with a Mediator, so a PV would be a perfect upgrade. _________________ This signature is in the middle of a much needed facelift! |

Good news (I think), it's a double edged sword really, but I've decided when a higher specced machine comes out, that I won't be selling my AmigaOne XE G4 into the second hand market, thereby forcing anyone interested to buy a new machine themselves. (Some others have commented the same, as well.)

I am one of the "others" since I will not be selling my A1-XE G4 either if I purchase a better model Amiga._________________ Moxee AmigaOne X1000 AmigaOne XE G4 I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. |

I expect that I will eventually buy one of the ACK boards (probably when they release the faster version that was mentioned at one point) . An A1200 fitted with an ACK board is much more portable than a towered A1 XE system -much easier to take to user's group meetings, etc.

| @wegster I'd like to buy 2 or more Amy'05 boards and network them together and do all sorts of strange distributed computing thangs with the A1s I have now. [cue evil laughter]
I may also pick up a PV (sans the A1200 dongle) if I can figure out a way to fit it into a laptop/luggable system of some kind. Maybe even something PAWS-like but less weight. _________________ ExecSG Team Lead |

Why is that so not surprising coming from you, ssolie? Largest AOS only computing farm?

Yeah, thinking the same, although I'd be happy with something the size of a mac mini...just for the hell of it (and the ack board should be small enough), although I certainly wouldn't 'complain' over a laptop _________________ Are we not done with the same silly arguments and flames yet??! |

Kind aof interesting to see the numbers of people who were at least once willing to buy either an 'Amy' or PV. Would be interesting to see if SAM was in the mix then, or if there are even that many people still looking?
Yep, I woulda bought an Amy..meh.
