| Simple question. I don't care if you'll 'buy it IF it has X,' or anything else.
Given only the current info, will you purchase an Ack PowerVixxen for A1200 or standalone, or Amy'05?
I'm using the following as estimates, as Ack PV standalone price is unknown as well as Amy'05's, so I'm guessing: ACK PV for A1200 - $300 ACK PV Standalone - $400
Troika Amy'05 - $500
All the above would include OS4.
Edit- sorry, no multiple choice. If plan on buying both, AS IS KNOWN ABOUT THEM NOW, state it in a post.
I voted for Amy at $500 and will also buy an ACK standalone if either show up.
PS- poll is assuming both become available for purchase, keep debates in if/when/who/what out of here please.

Missing the option, allready prepared for OS4, (A1 or Classic with PPC).
Anyhow, I've still got an old A1200 in the basement, and I do consider getting the PowerVixxen for it. _________________ Site admins are people too..pooff! |

| @tomazkid Yeah, I know it...ideally we'd be able to limit to allow selection of both Amy and ACK, and add more options but best I can do with the max poll choices.
Choose undecided, really trying to see how many people are ready/willing to pay/$ in hand and ready to go with what we know knowinstead of endless speculation etc.

I chose ACK PV for A1200 - $300USD, almost certain that I want one.
It seems so

I am not sure I want the PV... I prefer the Troika. Though I already have an A1-XE working, so unless it stops working I am not yet sure I will buy a Troika.
Now if a high-end system in a big box comes out, I will likely do my best to get one !

We need to sort you out another CPU for that dead A1 you have.
@Wegster Troika for me, I have no Classics as such anymore. Although I do like the sound of the ACK stuff. Maybe.

| I will definitely buy an Amy'05, 450 ¤ max for the considered specs, OS4 included. A Fantasy boxed version would give me the old thrill.
Of course, if there was a laptop... Me wants

| Well, my A1 is over 3 years old now, so it's time to cough up more money. I don't fancy resurrecting the A1200 so whether I buy the PV or not decides on just how good it is in standalone mode and what housing is available. Definitely will buy Amy... unless it takes years to arrive, that is.
The biggest problem atm is that people who have proven they will cough up the cash (ie A1 owners) don't have a viable upgrade path until new buyers provide funds for future devlopments.

I'm certanly very very interested in the PV for my AT A1200, it should give it a new lease of life & with a video card & OS4 installed it should drop a few jaws too

I voted for Troika, Hopefully it will work flawlessly without me having to get out my soldering iron out and move resistors around to get DMA working

| If they're really able to sell at USD 300 including OS4 I will definitely choose ACK for my trusty A1200 |

Can't answer that question. Depends on my economics. At the moment I can't afford a memory stick, let alone a computer. _________________

I choose the PV for my A1200 if the price is right (around 300¤ including OS4).
For me, the Troïka board is under specs and there's no point to buy one if you already have an A1 or a PV.
I'm more interested in a high end mobo as a standalone OS4 system.
Just wish we will able to get one ....one day |

| I'll probably wait for the A4000 version of the ACK cause my cash is limited. But the A1200 version sure looks tempting. _________________

| Bring on the Troika Amy'05 in a Fantasy case! B-) I'm definitely buying one for my office! Even I may get one for home too.

| ACK of course. The troika specs for today are a bit underpowered. The only problem on the two boards is that they lack a good (modern) graphics expansion port, be it agp or pciEx. As all in the amiga, we will have pciEx when pc's got a newer graphic solution, so we will stick to the lower and poor side of the things. It is so difficult to make it a bit competing to the resto of computers on the world? _________________ Amiga 1200 desktop. | I don't want to "compete." I just want a damn Amiga, and I want it now, while I have the money from my tax return. That said, I voted for the PV standalone. The more I think about it, the more attractive it is. Neither the PV or the AMY has much for specs (an 800 mhz G3 is no powerhouse). It's going on a KVM switch, and will be right next to my main rig, which is dual boot WinXP/Zeta. This "pocket Amiga" is perfect. Low power consumption, low heat, and should take care of all my day to day necessities without me having to fire up the 400 watt Athlon64 pig that sits next to it.
So, I can finally feel the Amiga love once again, and have a less expensive electricity bill to boot.
