| I have an AmigaOne 500 / SAM 460. It has the latest UBoot, 2015a. This version is supposed to have improved USB support. I'm having trouble with my USB keyboard (I've tried a couple with the same result). UBoot won't recognize any keyboard. I don't know when this started. It boots okay from an SD card via USB, so the USB system is working. When AmigaOS 4.1 FE is loaded up, the keyboard becomes available, although it seems a little flakey, but I haven't pinned that problem down yet. I admit I've messed with the uboot variables. I might have accidentally changed something. The only way I can change them is using nvgetvar and nvsetvar in a DOS shell, so I'm not totally shut out of UBoot. Also it seems that the UBoot updates have left the documentation behind. There are lots of variables that aren't documented. I could reflash the UBoot ROM, but that can be risky. It seems there should be a UBoot variable to specify USB or OS/2 type keyboards. Just an idea. Any ideas are welcome. Last edited by thinkchip on 08-Dec-2019 at 03:26 PM. Does uboot expect the keyboard to be plugged into a specific USB port? |

I use the rear right (or top if in a desktop case) connector . The known problem is double keypresses with some keyboards.
See below form Acube Website.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: users with an USB A-Eon AmigaOne keyboard may experience a problem with too many repeated keys, in this case, if possible, use another USB keyboard, or wait for a new update. We had several feedback saying that Logitech keyboards K120 work perfectly with Uboot (also MK220 are reported to work). |

Only on the Sam440, not the 460.Last edited by elwood on 08-Dec-2019 at 07:22 PM.

Here's what happens. Suppose my only boot device was the CD-ROM and there was no disk in it. You'd get a message like "No boot code found. Press any key for the prompt." I can't push a key because it doesn't recognize the keyboard. I'm using a keyboard that has always worked and another one. I don't think trying more keyboards would help. I tried all the USB ports, none of them work. I think with the SAM 460 it doesn't matter what port you use. Last edited by thinkchip on 09-Dec-2019 at 02:03 AM.

Do you have the keybord plugged in from before booting? UBoot seemingly does not handle changed connections on USB ports after the initial USB device discovery.

Yes I plug the keyboard in and boot up the computer. I don't think I've tried booting with the keyboard in all four ports. I will try that later today. _________________ X5000 / microA1(OS4.1 FE U2) / CodeBench / Imagine / Blender Lightwave 2019 / Microsoft Visual C++ |
