| Great work on this, when Aros One next version comes out, i will have to check this out.
I do wish Icaros kept going.
The more the legal mess holds up AmigaOS, the more respect and gratefulness that Aros is here! _________________ AmigaNG, YouTube, LeaveReality Studio |

Thanks for all of your hard work and dedication. Perhaps this is a silly question but can you run 32-bit AROS binaries on the 64-bit AROS operating system? Thanks.

Not currently, but this option might get enabled later. It's more of a question of priorities. _________________ https://www.axrt.org |

Congratulations.
I assume this is also the version where this stuff (whatever it was ^^) is included which people up to now needed to add manually to make RetroArch for AROS 64 Bit working ?
BTW: Trying to get Mame "Recent" RetroArch Core (Mame 0.278) running. No guarantee that it will work (it is a huge monster of a source code). Up to now I tried it on AmigaOS 4 (not enough memory, OS4 is limited to 2 GB of RAM) and on AROS 32 Bit (the gcc 6.5.0 was not enough for Mame 0.278 or to be specific the C++ Includes). Now trying with AROS 64 Bit. So far it is compiling, but we will see if this continues.

Of course RetroArch will work with this new build. Tomorrow, if all tests are OK, I will release the new AROS One 64Bit, which includes updated cores and third-party software.
RetroArch was not available and is not included in AROS One because it is not available for download. Users will have to obtain and install it themselves. _________________ AROS One Home Site AfA One Amiga OS 3.9 |

please ignore the troll. The more attention he gets the more he posts
if he gets no response it will become boring. Or this site would be moderated, what is not the case obviously |

I'm waiting for people showing up and demanding a 64bit Version of AROS 68k.
But we don't know what the Apollo guys are working on. |

| HA! A 64bit 68000 would certainly be an interesting, outrageous concept.
HOW ABOUT A 64 BIT 6502!!!!!!! CYCLE-EXACT C64 WITH GIGABYTES OF ADDRESSABLE SPACE. We could call it the 64²

All on purpose. I did not want it included yet, as it is still in Beta (we are just at Beta3, the versions for the other OSes were released when Beta10 or 20 was released - of course we might need less Beta on AROS version as a lot of stuff reusable for AROS was reached with AmigaOS/MOS versions already).
We will talk about integration into the AROS ISO at a later time, for a later ISO.
BTW: MAME 0.278 links It will be only for AROS 64 Bit (32 Bit has compiler issues, all other - AmigaOS/MOS - targets have not enough memory and/or have the same issue with maximum filesize as AROS hosted). Still trying if I can make it small enough that Mame 0.278 runs on AROS hosted.
Best regards, Steffen |
