I have an ASUS Z97M Plus in storage and an MSI MPower Z77 instead of an ASUS P8Z68-V LX (Sandybridge-Ivybridge era) and Gigabyte GA-MA770T UD3/UD3P (AM3 era).
My MSI MPower Z77 has a mod'ed BIOS to boot NVMe.
MSI MPower Z77 with Intel Core i7 3770K, onboard Realtek 8111E NIC, onboard Realtek ALC898, and GeForce 8600 GTS components. I plan to try AROS One x86 v2.4. It seems that my existing Radeon HD 3850, 4850, 6950, and 7970 are not optimal for AROS. I switched back to NVIDIA with GTX 980 Ti generation. _________________ Amiga 1200 (rev 1D1, KS 3.2, PiStorm32/RPi CM4/Emu68) Amiga 500 (rev 6A, ECS, KS 3.2, PiStorm/RPi 4B/Emu68) Ryzen 9 7950X, DDR5-6000 64 GB RAM, GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB |

"Recommended hardware" section contain hardware that is re-tested and certified to work. This is for people who don't want to experiment and just want to buy hardware that works and is guaranteed to be working. |

retrofaza I like very much your Blog and I thank you for doing it, but a "new" user visiting the Blog, seeing that background and those Icons and those Windows believes that AROS is the one of 30 years ago !
To credit more interest and maybe bring some new user closer, you should show modern and above all quality backgrounds, windows and icons
I know you like the retro world, but AROS is not a retro system ! surely in this forum there will be someone who thinks like me !

AMIGASYSTEM, thanks for sharing your opinion.
I personally think that your AROS One, is currently the best AROS distribution and I have mentioned this in several posts.
However, I have adopted the convention that I run new programs and take screenshots for the blog on the base system. |

If it is stano to you what I have written, then it is useless to waste so many hours on improving distributions, we might as well use the bare Builds !

Perhaps you could make the plea to the right people so that those bare builds are more appealing. The author stated it well enough. Besides not even Linux has take the world by storm, I guess cute icons won't exactly cut it until now...
I don't really think that AROS haven't yet took by storm because of it,I find much more interesting those programs being shown, that pro tracker surely is a beauty.
Btw bare bones apple looks amazing, bare bones windows also and even most Linux distros, why don't you talk to those maintaining the AROS Core so that one can reach a distinct/structured look, a continuity from the get go instead of having it scattered all over the place by each user? _________________ Indigo 3D Lounge, my second home. The eyes want its share too, if you show up with a nice new jacket and a broken pant leg how are you judged?
Presenting a program on an old OS loses credibility, it turns off heartiness, beautiful things amaze and intrigue.
Today people travel on the Internet fast, they linger only when they see beautiful and attractive things, in front of outdated screenshots they don't even look at the content !
On AROS you can have the most beautiful Icons, AROS supports any kind of Icon, MOS for example uses PNG images but only one face, it does not support DualPNG. _________________ AROS One Home Site AfA One Amiga OS 3.9 |

Its not up to you to decide how others use their OS or how it looks. He said there's a reason for it and even that was more of a response than he needed to give. You dont need to like it, but you need to accept it. You're coming across as a bit of a child throwing a tantrum that someone else isnt doing the hobby the way that you like. Get over it. |

You are off the mark, or my translation was not correct !
A user is free to choose for himself, but in my opinion, when he has to disclose something for others he has to do it in the best possible way.
An old user when he sees the same wanderer the same windows the same icons as 30 years ago, he thinks there has been no progress.
I am talking in general, not about my distribution ! Last edited by AMIGASYSTEM on 02-May-2024 at 02:20 PM. Last edited by AMIGASYSTEM on 02-May-2024 at 02:19 PM.
