I present the 16C Fix... (Thank You Kalamatee)

Kalamatee has fix a long standing bug where AROS would crash if you had a machine with more than 16 core/threads.

This machine boots EFI only(Another one of Kalamatee's fixes.)

So here's a 64 Core(Dual Epyc 7502) pic :)

Thank you, Kalamatee! We hope it will soon be available on distributions!

@terminills

Good work.

Can someone explain if it is compatible to AROS for 64-bit (ABIv11)?

@OneTimer1

This is mainline AROS. If/when Deadwood enables it in ABIv11 is up to him.

Hopefully this week I will have a video up show it and a few AI models that are include with the nightly builds off.

@terminills

Thank you for the explanations, I'm just worried about compatibility in AROS 64, that's all.

@OneTimer1

You’re confusing deadwood’s abiv11 with AROS in general. AROS mainline(abiv1) SMP build is 64 bit.

@OneTimer1

AROS 64bit ABv1 and AROS 64 bit ABv11 have the same core, the only difference being that the Deadwood fork is compiled with the C library, for this reason, ABv1 and ABv11 are incompatible with each other.

Bear in mind that all AROS distributions are based on Deadwood forks, including my own AROS One 32Bit, AROS One 64Bit and AROS One 68k distributions.

In addition to the AROS 32/64 fork, there is also the AROS 68k fork.

That said, there are no distributions based on ABv1, only builds.

@terminills

Unfortunately, there is no third-party software available for ABV1, otherwise a version of AROS One ABV1 would also have been created.

@AMIGASYSTEM

I have no interest in the current software base. and owning source to a few commercial applications gives me more lattitude than your typical distro maintainer.

I wonder how SMP could work and maintain compatibility except if you run legacy software on a sandbox

@kamelito

I guess when you compile the source, things will be taken care... in a sense i would assume all have to be be recompiled

@kamelito

Deadwood is working on a kind of runtime environment already to run much of the 32bit aros software in 64 bit aros without recompile. The same will be in future that 32bit and 64bit aros software will run in a linux environment without recompile. So the idea finally will be Aros 32bit (native), Aros 64bit (native), AROS 32bit and 64bit running based on linux using a amiga desktop as real linux desktop, propably scalos. Last one is for me personal the most exciting option. But that can everybody decide for himself.
