Yeah, I hope that they'll manage to implement some good filtering at user registration stage (but not at payment, as I'm afraid that such filter might hamper regular purchases - Tony Aksnes reported that a few people couldn't buy the game, and I suspect that it was due to some action from the itch.io side).

UPDATE
I've been told that also who had already bought the game could no longer download it. It looks like there's no effective way to deal with this issue.
Given that Gemdalus and QUOD INIT EXIT IIo were the only paid-for games and that my other projects were not affected, I have now changed the payment model to pay-what-you-want: who bought the game can now download it again and, hopefully, the game will no longer be targeted by the scammers. | For the record, a couple of hours ago there was another fraudulent purchase: so, the fact that the game is now pay-what-you-want didn't solve the issue. I just can't do anything about it (apart from reporting the purchases to itch.io, but they react very slowly - in fact, at the moment there are 6 purchases to be cancelled) and I'm utterly annoyed. _________________

Due to the continuing fraudulent purchases, I changed the URL of Gemdalus to https://retream.itch.io/gemdalusaga.
The game page is gettings hundreds of hits per day, but in the last 2 days only 2 fraudulent purchases succeeded, so itch.io must have set up a filter. If anybody tries to buy the game but can't manage to, please let me know so that I can report it to itch.io. _________________
