@Wiffy

In and waitin'.. something to happen.. Some day, some way..

We are going into Motorola Inside 2005, http://www.motorolainside.org/
it's next weekend, so there's no rest, just the fest !

I'm not worried about the future, but yes, we (dealers) really
need some coordinating. Now we only appear at the same lists and that is not much of now'a'days networking

Best Regards, Boogie/Gentle Eye ky

@Wiffy, awstaff

There are two big shows coming up, one in Sweden and the other in the USA, it would be good to see a start on some of any suggested initiatives there, perhaps users attending that read and contribute to this thread could arrange to meet up and discuss some ideas.

I'll hopefully be able to attend AmiGBG, and I'm hoping that many more in the aw staff will be able to attend, so that we could have a stand there like last year. Anyway, how about trying to find an A1 to use for running some good apps on the amigaworld.net stand?

@BGenEye

Thanks for responding, I wish other dealers would reply too, that way, we can start moving forwards.

FW97 and DPIV used to be my stuff but won't work on A1. I cannot program but only use, I'd be happy to buy equivalent programs.

True for Dpaint and Brilliance. But Final Writer 97 is working great on this A1.

@Rogue Hi!

Just tried it, locked up, could'nt reset from kb.
These Settings maybe again. Just got IBrowse to work with good help from Oliver Roberts. Had to re-install the javascript.library. I was going to buy AmigaWriter2,2 as it understards FinalWriters documents but either does not work perfectly on A1. (Read on Int.Base.com)

This is why I'm waiting if any office progs come for sale.
Luckily the A1200 (060PIV) is still alive next to me so no problems here.

On the other side: OS4 with movie playing etc.. beats the 1200...

Thanks for the OS4, When it's done;)

@Wiffy

Count us in.
We would consider sponsoring development of hardware drivers for OS4, wether it be PCI or Zorro.

So I'll make this a general call to developers:
If you can make a driver, let me know and I'll send you the required hardware.

@GuruMeditation

Wow, what an offer! I think it should get posted as news! With your permission of course...

I prepared an article some while ago on how to write a driver for AmigaOS, perhaps it could be rejuvinated, given the once over and added to the wiki...

@PR

Remove the FWFiles/FW.Prefs file & see if FW97 works. I couldn't even get FW97 to start until I did this. The prefs file will be re-created when you save your settings again.

Yeah, I do too. What I think several dealers fail to realize is:
1. Posting and helping out users is free goodwill and free advertising, even when they aren't explictly advertising. People are more likely to purchase from 'well known' helpfuly dealers, period.

2. What a fair amount of the public/consumers want is a definitive source of accurate A1 info- what works, what doesn't, the good and the bad. If a dealer were to perhaps sponsor such a site, or create AND maintain it...it would very likely do good things for their business. As a dealer, additionally, they should have more direct answers from EyeTech if/as required, that could be of benefit to all.

@Wiffy

Please, go ahead. We feel drivers are inherently important to the platform as a whole, and OS4 currently covers alot of audio and video drivers, a good number of IDE controllers. It would be very good to see more ethernet, scsi controllers and the like.

mate, I refer to a Shoutcast SENDER! So that I can play music, to people like you, or do a live webcast via an AmigaOne

But no more selling used cars on the air, ok? I mean the T&C's of AW are pretty clear on that.

Some people spotted Mikey as a used car sales person.
