ACK PowerVixxen will be available sooner.

I know that the CPU modules and PowerVixen LT classic add-on board will come "any day now", but what about the standalone motherboard? I though the standalone would come later.

@elatour

I was under the impression that the PowerVixen LT would now come after the standalone board.

@Rob

Adam said In July on the IRC that the CPU module is scheduled for September.
The PowerVixxen TL (standalone board) is scheduled for late October (hopefully).
Only after that can the PowerVixxen LT be completed.
There's also work on a more advanced PowerVixxen TL v2 board.

Hopefully he can complete all these.

Apparently, some people have not read the post from Troika developer Ian Stedman,
posted last night in post #39:

Good to hear that they will bring a prototype atleast. Seeing some real hardware will definitely raise my hope a bit, even if it isnt the final hardware.

The Amy non-working prototype better be backed up with a video of it working or something, otherwise it's just a pretty green board with chips and wires. Could be a toaster for all I know about electronics!!

Why do it the easy way when you can do it the hard way? If you can do a video, you could just as well do the demo at BB4. Or is it still so sluggish that it only "works" in 1 of 20 cases?

I think I've read all of Troika's and Stedy's posts so far, but still I haven't found a single reason or explanation why they can't do a live-demo of the board when it is allegedly "working".

Spot on.

Someone made the comment about bringing a broken Powermac motherboard to the show and saying "Look, a prototype Amiga-1 motherboard!". It would fufill the same role as Troika's offering: nonworking, no evidence that it has a license for OS4, no evidence that it can boot OS4, etc.

Maybe the non-disclosed details of the licensing agreement makes it impossible for troika to both run aos4 as well as comment why?

You're mixing up the standards.. Your case is for MicroATX and Mini-ITX is
considerably smaller.. FlexATX is between MicroATX and Mini-ITX. If his
case is Mini-ITX a FlexATX board will never fit.

Yes you're correct. Micro-ATX is 235x170mm vs Mini-ITX 170x170mm if I'm
not mistaken?! Amy is 190x170 btw. But most Mini-ITX cases actually have
space for 190mm flex boards (two PCI's). And most users buys Micro-ATX
cases (4 PCI's) for their Mini-ITX boards due to the tight space of Mini-ITX
cases. But of course the flex board won't fit a true Mini-ITX case.

Well, according to wikipedia:

Micro-ATX is max 244 x 244 mm (9.6" x 9.6"), and has a max of 4 PCI slots, but usually has 3 PCI slots.

Mini-ITX is 170 x 170 mm, and usually has 1 PCI slot

Flex-ATX is max 229 x 191 mm, and uses a subset of the Micro-ATX set of mobo mounting holes

Oddly enough, there's also a standard called Nano-ITX, which is 12 cm x 12 cm.

All of this compared to ATX, which is 12" x 9.6"

Okay, everyone; bring those non-working time/perpetual motion/transporter/death ray machines along.

Got those Pons-Fleischmann fusion and/or flying saucer anti-grav mail order kits built? Bring those too!

@Atheist

@Thread

Well, I just hope that something will ship in October that is capable of running OS4.
It doesn't have to run OS4 yet!

I hope it's not later because if it slips into the new year 2007!! then I think there will be the final exodus.

Could you define what you mean by "capable of running OS4"?

Haha not yet. It has only gone a year since you started this thread.

Seriously, there's a Mini-ITX board called SAM440EP which is supposed to be
released around April 2007. If everything goes as planned for them.
They should have developer boards ready now or really soon.

There's also a couple of others that might release stuff this year. But no one
else has anything confirmed.

The Amy board is the closest to completion so if you were a betting man, put all your chips on Amy.

I thought the ACK thingy had already gone into production, I seem to remember some news along those lines.

That has to be about the funniest thing said last year.

I'm confident and willing to wager $100 that hardware will be available this year.
I won't make a guess what month tho!
