Is it possible to run modern AGA demos/intros on NatAmi?
Yes the Natami includes AGA chipset. Natami has a chip that we call "SuperAGA" it has all the features of the original Commodore AMIGA AGA, but it is about 100 times faster. And SuperAGA includes some new features like higher resolution , more colordepth and 3D acceleration.
is Superaga similar to this http://uk.aminet.net/docs/misc/AgaEXTENDER.readme ???
Its MUCH more advanced than the above. But the idea is similatr : Integrate to old features with new enhanced ones.
The Natami website will be updated soon. But is a nutshell: it is a new AGA Amiga with - All modes flickerfixed to have both TC and VGA out - Video in / Audio in - Resolution of 1280x1024 in 32bit - Much faster Blitter (100 times faster) - PLANAR modes and new color modes 8Bit Chunky, 16Bit Hicolor, 32 Bit Truecolor - 3D acceleration with Antialiasing Paula with 24 Bit Audio The gotcha of it is that the new features are fully integrated in the original Amiga design.
Playable preview or rolling demo for Classic Amigas pls. I'd like to see how my CSPPC performs... :) Classic and OS4 versions also "for the masses" :D
This request is impossible. I'm doing the demo to show what the Natami can do. Like the Jugler-demo showed what the Amiga 1000 can do.
The Natami is many times more powerful than all Classic Amigas. In certain areas the Natami is more powerful than the AmigaONE. Its impossible to demonstrate this features at the same time and limit yourself be useable on a slower system.
What you request is like saying write the JuglerDemo to demostrate the power of the AMIGA 100 but make it that it can run on a C64 too.
Does anyone have any furthur details on the NatAmi? Any links I find in google are very sparse.
The Natami website will be updated soon.
Last bit of Info I got was that it was going to be some form of PCI card??? If not will it be in the form of a motherboard?
The Natami is a complete computer. Like the Amiga 4000 was. It comes with CPU, GFX, Audio, etc all included. It comes with PCI expansion slots to allow extension.
Will the CPU be replaceable?
The first boards will have a soldered 68060 and a CPU expansion slot. A CPU upgrade (PPC or Coldfire) is planned.
What memory will it take etc etc.
The first batch is planned with 256 MB Fastmem and 16 MB Chipmem
Will it really be able to play all or the vast majority of Amiga games or other software??
Yes, the vast majority of Amiga games and software will run on it. The Natami is 100% backward compatible but it is a lot faster. Every software that has no issue running on a faster CPU/platform will work.

This is great! I will definitly be buying one as my 1200 is becoming quite unstable at the moment and I dont want to loose it!.
A few of furthur questions(sorry for bothering you about this I know your probably not the person to speak too!):
What expansion ports will it have PCI/AGP? IDE Ports for Hard Drive/CD/DVD? Floppy port? Will I just be able to plug my ROM chips and my Hard drive straight onto the mother board and let it run?
Will the 060 be clocked at 50MHz or will it be a 60MHz unit?
Thanks again!

The thing is, why bother? I hardly think the NatAmi will be more powerful than any computer with a recent graphics chip from ATI or NVidia and a PowerPC or x86 CPU running or emulating AmigaOS. _________________ Playstation Network ID: xeron6 |

If your new amiga hardware will be reality i hope very much why don't contact new Commodore, Acube, etc etc and launch "Commodore" (R) "Amiga" (R)* 6000 [from 68060 cpu]. I think it's a new life for reborn computer brand..

Technically could this system be classed as a Classic Amiga? It isnt really emulating the system(?) so if I plugged a PPC cup card into it could I then run OS4?

I agree on that but I'm also thinking that this is what Commodore would've released... it sounds like a Commodore Amiga . The cool thing is that you can play old games with it I think and at the same time hopefully run AOS 4.0 on it (when the PPC CPU-card is released). I would buy it for the games alone and the fact that it reminds me of the old Amigas . |

True, its not an emulation, if you want that, UAE is probably the best solution. This very much seems like the next big logical step to take.
Also, I would much rather spend money on this system, than any other alternative. Especially if AOS4.0 would be able to run on the NatAmi sometime in the future. Last edited by Yssing on 06-Mar-2008 at 11:53 AM.

There's an open source flight simulator called "FlightGear"... _________________ Ryzen 9 7900X, DDR5-6000 32 GB RAM, GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB Amiga 1200 (rev 1D1, KS 3.2, PiStorm32lite/RPi 4B/Emu68) Amiga 500 (rev 6A, KS 3.2, PiStorm/RPi 3a/Emu68) |

Ok, now I'm curious, in what areas is Natami more powerful than the AmigaONE.
@Hammer
I tried FlightGear recently, and it still has a fair way to go. It was kind of unstable. Besides, that's not the point of this demo/game; it's being written to show what the Natami can do.

It runs outdated Amiga AGA/OCS software... ;) And also is powered by a state of the art (cheap ;)) 68060..._________________ http://www.warpdesign.fr/ |

I think the last time I heard of such an ambitious hardware project was when "ACK" announced the PowerVixxen.
I just hope you guys turn out to be more sincere than the ACK's and Troika's of this world! _________________ 4000T/BFG9060 CD32/Elsat ProModule, TF360 CD32/ Edu's CD32 <> A1200 Adapter, Vampire V2 CD32/ FMV Module |

Subtle difference... Adam never announced he had completed anything. Troika says... Quote:
Amy is ready, willing and able to operate AmigaOs4 that she was originally designed for. Our only obstacle at the present time, is the lawsuit between Amiga Inc., and Hyperion. |

Not entirely true. He did announce PV was 'in production' in irc on on the forum.
Of course, that doesn't make either ACKs nor Troikas statements true in any way, shape or form..
