This is great! One more step closer towards modern Web browsers. Thanks Fab!
There's only one more thing left, a decent Office app, perhaps native AbiWord ;) Anyway thx again!

Would this OWB plugin system support stuff like Google gears? It may be useful to run Google Docs offline. _________________ The only spanish amiga news web page/club: CUAZ |

That's what I'm hoping for. Google Gears would give MOS and OS4 a decent office suite at no cost. |

It's completely Joerg's choice, of course, since he's the one doing the actual work. However, I'd personally prefer it if we all used the one common shared-library system on all browsers and systems.

Oh I remember them. I also remember their speed (not counting UAE/Amithlon). Do you really think flash is going to work acceptably on a real 68k? I'd say any attempts to port it will just mean wasted time. |

Well, sure, it would be slow on real 68k. But Amithlon/Amiga Forever/UAE users would be fine, as you say. Amithlon on my 2.4GHz Athlon 64 CPU absolutely screams :) :)

I can't really tell yet, but it surely needs mecanisms in the plugin system or even OWB itself that might not be implemented yet. Would have to be checked carefully first. |

Well, don't worry, Flash looks prioritary compared to Google Gears for me. Your work in the plugin system and flash player looks very promising _________________ The only spanish amiga news web page/club: CUAZ |

don't worry.. i think if all our little OS (MOS,OS4,AROS) join its forces we could have a lot of things very quickly.. OWB is an example.. three platforms.. three different source code.. it is a waste of time (for me..). And is this not related to the used GUI, since the trunks of all projects that supports multiple platforms are capable to add different platforms/gui. But at least the main code and bugfix is related to all platforms..
Personally, in my big projects (like mplayer or gnash) i've always submitted my changes (where possible.. f.e. mplayer developers doesn't accept some kind of changes). This could help other people to:
1) Compile the package himself 2) Learn (yes.. not so much from my code..) some amiga related part functions 3) Find (i think a lot..) bugs in my code 4) Implement a MOS/AROS counterpart more quickly since it is simply to see where put the code
but, of course, a developer do his choice.. _________________ http://www.amigasoft.net |
