Thank you for the information ! (seems like truckload of it) I had understood that I was much simpler. Better thisway.
And now I understand why 4.1.1 is said to bring a lot of speed improvements for SAM. Last edited by KimmoK on 30-Nov-2009 at 06:07 PM.

I dont seem to be able to connect to your website to download your version, the dns lookup would seem to be working but your address is unreachable for me Last edited by Dwyloc on 01-Dec-2009 at 12:39 PM.

This is absolutly faster then any .29 version I saw 'til today. Your SAM version combined with Cyborgs GUI would be great. It feels smoother and is - at a quick glance - nearly usable. I.e. it loads Workbench icons faster than my original OS3.9 68K system with a 030 ... _________________ X1000|II/G4|440ep|2000/060|2000/040|1000 |

Wow. 24 DSP instructions. Any PPC assembler guru?
The little Sam can unchain more hidden power! Any PPC assembler guru?

| @m3x Your v0.8.29-sam UAE appears to use SDL, which may explain why it is not QUITE as fast as v0.8.28. Is it possible to recompile it with native Amiga Gfx support, instead of SDL? _________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. It is pitch black. Any thought?
On the OS side the OS 4.1 api could be optimized to use this DSP instructions?

| @AmigaBlitter Since Massimiliano Tretene is deeply involved with the Sam version of OS4.1.1 I would expect the new update to make use of the IBM library where possible
On a side note, I tried the Sam-Recompile and noticed slightly smoother scrolling but inferior audio handling (in complex games such as Turrican II, Rainbow Islands worked perfectly instead) HOWEVER? it would seem I have the old SDL lib. Will try again with the newer one... _________________ SamFlex Complete 800Mhz System + AmigaOS 4.1 Update 4 Amiga 2000 DKB 2MB ChipRam GVP G-Force040 Picasso 2 OS3.9 BB2 AmigaCD 32 |

| @Thread Final Verdict:as ChrisH said, the older 0.8.28 is the faster one no matter what. Probably the Sam re-compile speeds up the newer SDL version, but the use of SDL kills any advantage. What we need is a "Sam-Recompile" of the 0.8.28 (a re-compile that would make use of the IBM library).
@m3x Would it be possible to re-compile that older version?

Anyone seen SDK material for SAM's lattice chip anywhere?
(we need SAM HW programmers guide!)
