I'm loving this!
You all are so excited, it's like a week-long Christmas morning treasure hunt with free pizza and beer gaming event.
Good news is fun, huh?

I hope Amiga won't disappear with this secret project !
When I look at the remaining letters, I see that an anagram might be : Anemon
Is there something to do with the same idea than Petunia ?

Good luck.
I've been through the source of all the pages currently known about on the www.A-Eon.com/ site, and downloaded all the embedded images therein, with nothing not-already-discussed found. Browsing through the individual frames of the animated GIFs has also revealed nothing new.
But don't let that stop you looking.
Don't tell me I'm the only one who's done this... Last edited by Boot_WB on 02-Jan-2010 at 06:29 PM.

That won't happen. It will still run the latest OS and I am sure that Hyperion will continue support for a good long while yet. They are a decent firm and I am sure will look after their existing customers._________________ Sam |

| Did anyone else see this? For a few seconds www.A-Eon.com/ was that old Amiga OS 4 website that Hyperion made. Can't find the link for it, but it was the cool looking one that had all the specs and information about AmigaOS4. Now it went back to normal.
@Boot_WB
Yeah, I've been doing similar stuff. Been changing names and numbers of gif/png files and typing in stuff.
I found those 2 other pictues that way, so we know this will go on for several more days.

then it could have the AGA chipset built-in |
It would seem almost pointless on paper but I can't help but think how cool that would be. To have a new OS 4.1 powered Amiga that runs all of the old games in hardware.
Would be brilliant to be able to boot Beast on my new A-EON Amiga!
But let's not get too carried away...

Hadn't seen those before, may kinda spoil it a bit, so if I find any, I'm not going to link to them I think. Should be a bit more careful about scheduling uploads of the advertising files though!

it is nice to have such a long thread on a positive note. |
I think - if anything - the long history we have all had with this machine and indeed to this quite brilliant web site - we have learned to get on.
We've had all of the ups and downs and the majority of the people left here are intelligent and bright enough to ignore the flames and not play up to them.
Good stuff._________________ Sam |

Probably! The whole thing should be something really ambitious, which is not to surprise us (the community, 1000-10000 ppl?!) but to bring more users to the platform. Multiple cores, etc won’t bother the average joe, and isn’t something that AOS is missing right now or that would take advantage of. We need new and more s/w done easily, fast and cheap. Just a few developers won’t be enough for great projects (even if we had great s/w development and applications with AOS4.x). The Timberwolf project (an example) is just the beginning ... What would make easier ports/development ? APIs like DircectX (for more h/w support, h/w agnostic/abstract), X11 for great apps (browsers/office suite and everything Amiga lacks till now), etc . Hosting an OS is just like WinUAE, use the OS resources for the hosted environment. Not so ambitious/great! Why not migrate to Windows/Linux? Maybe the MAP is a bridging all these, bringing new Amiga s/w (easily made ports, even easier made whole new apps/prgs) to everybody (not just Amiga geeks). New market? We’ll see (that’s really ambitious)_________________ Ordell Robbie: Is she dead, yes or no? Louis: Pretty much. |

| A shame (or smart, just how you look at it) they use JAVA-Script to navigate to the next pages. This way I can't use HTTrack to get all the files on a-eon.com :-S

At first I was very interested in this. |
For what it is worth - back in the old days - Eyetech were a brilliant company. Back in the mid - late nineties they were really very good and keen. They risked a lot with the AOne and all of the delays and issues with AInc. meant that they lost a lot of time and money and perhaps that tilted their attitude slightly. Not that I would forgive poor service - but perhaps understand why it happened the way it all did.
If we can understand but not let the past taint the good stuff to come - we will all benefit.
I'm not explaining myself very well - but I'm sure you know what I mean.

At least this brightens up January - with Xmas and New Year now over we need something to look forward to.
I've been really pleased with how, on the most part, the majority of users have been quite positive in this thread - long may it continue
